“True. Maybe you should call your uncle back and give him the lowdown.”
“As soon as I drop you off where you were installing the cameras, I’ll call him.”
Zane smiled. “Way to get out of work.”
“I’ll only be a minute, and then I’ll help you.”
CHAPTERFOURTEEN
“You two don’t haveto follow me around, you know,” Blair said. “I am capable of shopping on my own.” Both Zane and Jeff had insisted on taking her to the grocery store. Their actions implied she’d either be attacked in the supermarket aisle or crumble from the pain.
Jeff was the first to look away. “Sure. There are a lot of things I need to get.” He spun his cart around and headed in the opposite direction.
Something strange was happening to her, because lust would surge inside her whenever either man was near. It was as if someone else was inhabiting her body, prompting responses she'd normally never have. This intense physical attraction before was rather unsettling.
When Blair had confided her feelings—or rather her strange reaction—about these two guys to Avery, her friend told her to go for it. She also suggested that Blair tell both of them how she felt. That was sound advice except that Blair had a hard time expressing herself.
She inwardly huffed out a laugh. Zane was calm and inviting while Jeff was mysterious and brooding. It was as if he too had a hard time talking about his feelings. Maybe that was why each of them spoke to the different sides of her personality.
Whenever she smiled at Jeff, there was a glint in his eye like he wanted to consume her in the most pleasurable way possible; pressing her against any convenient sturdy wall, claiming her lips with a fiery passion before thrusting his burning cock into her until she screamed with desire.
Zane would be the type to tenderly lay her on the bed, lavish attention on every inch of her body with soft caresses and licks until an orgasm rippled through her before he demanded she ride him hard until they were both spent.
Of course, she could just have it all wrong.
Zane placed a comforting hand on her arm. “Blair, are you okay?”
Heat raced up her face. “Yes. I was mentally going over the things I needed. No telling how long I’ll be at Jeff’s.” People said she was good at shielding her feelings, but with Zane, and sometimes Jeff, she often failed.
“I understand.” Zane gave her an all-knowing smile as if he could see right through her bullshit.
She cleared her throat. “Ah, do you know if Jeff has any pots or pans? I’d like to cook you guys a meal tonight as a thank you.”
“I’ll ask him.” He winked and then, he too spun around and rushed down the aisle.
Her heart fluttered. Blair was the first to admit that she’d never met men like those two before. However, she’d promised Zane that she would cook them dinner. Having been on her own for years, she’d learned how to prepare a meal, thank goodness. So what if it was from watching YouTube and not from her own mother?
Since Blair didn’t know what they’d like to eat, she wanted to make something safe, like spaghetti and meatballs. Everyone liked pasta. Not only that, it wouldn’t require a lot of cookware.
For the next ten minutes, she picked up what she needed. When she ran into Jeff again, she spotted several pieces of cookware in his cart, as well as wine, beer, coffee, eggs, and other staples.
“Is any of that for the loft, or will all of that go to your place?”
“For the loft. I have to stock it at some time, and Zane mentioned you wanted to cook us dinner. You don’t have to, you know. If you get tired, I can help.”
“You cook?”
“All Granger men cook. I think it’s a law.”
She laughed. “Sounds good.”
He nodded to her cart. “Do you have everything you need? Like shampoo and soap and stuff?”
“I can grab my supplies from my place if one of you can drop me off at my apartment for a few minutes.”
“Sure. We can do that. When you’re done shopping, we’ll meet you out by the cars.”
She smiled once more. What was up with Jeff? He was quite different from the man she first met, but she had to say, she liked this version much better.
