“No.” I fake a smile and hang up before blocking his number. I don’t need anymore bad vibes filling my life.
I need a cleanse.
That’s my next step. I’ve looked up all the different techniques. I couldn’t get to the store where I got my sage from, Miracle Remedies, until Sunday. So, I started small with meditation. Buying crystals to take a bath seemed too extreme.
Mediating, truly meditating, is hard. Especially when you live with sixteen other girls who don’t stop making noise.
I sit in the center of my room, legs crossed, and calming music on.
Deep breath in.
“Penny, do you have my curling iron?” Shouts Callie across the hall.
Slow breath out.
“Renna, did you drink all the cranberry juice?” Carries Chelsea’s loud mouth from the kitchen.
Another deep breath, letting the oxygen fill my lungs.
“Where’s Kandi? Is she coming out?” Dani asks.
Slow release…
“Kandi?” Penny calls for me.
“This isn’t working!” I yell out with a long groan, opening the door to stick my head out. “No, I’m not going to the party at the hockey house! Penny always has your curling iron! I’m in my room trying to cleanse my soul of negative, unwanted boys!” I shout back to shut them up. “Oh, and I drank the juice!”
Ah!Now, that was a cleanse.
It felt good to scream and shout at them, but it didn’t shut them up. All it did was make them talk about how I’m PMS’ing.
Yeah. That’s why I drank the cranberry juice, bitches.
The next day I roped Penny into going to a yoga class with me, as long as I stayed after to go on a treadmill with her so she can ogle the gym manager.
Penny has a thing for beefy looking older men. Actually, Penny has a thing for all men. All they need is muscles and a dick for her to be interested.
Jerrick, the gym’s manager, is in his early to mid-thirties. He’s not horrible looking. I’m not blinded by his good looks to notice his arrogant sneers and degrading comments. Penny got me in with a Friend Pass, so I’m not complaining. She can ogle whoever she wants.
Yoga was easier than trying to meditate in my room. The quiet sound proofed room, and the soothing voice of the instructor calmed me down. The workout sweated out all the negativity from my pores. All my bad karma washed away.
Namaste.
This was just what I needed. I feel like a new woman, ready to take on the world. Maybe exercising is the cure for all. Who knew?
Penny still insisted on the treadmills, even if our shirts already had sweat marks running down them. I guess it’s normal seeing all the athletes working out with sweat dripping off their delicious muscle toned bodies. I could really get used to going to the gym. Relaxation complete with eye candy? Sign me up.
I really need to get laid. It’s only been a week, but it was over two weeks since I had any actual good sex.
Nope!I’m not going down that road. Negative karma is gone. I will not bring it back with thoughts ofhim.
Penny’s telling me about her night at the Hockey House. There was a fight. There’s always at least one small fight that breaks out. This time it was bad, because it was between the hockey team’s newest captain, Alex Briggs, and a member of the ski team who was hooking up with Alex’s long-time girlfriend.
It’s a big deal. Alex just got named the captain, and something like this could affect his game. That’s never a good sign at the beginning of the season.
I’m listening to her story, but find myself drawn to a body of muscles bench pressing two rows ahead of us. I can’t see his face, but fuck, does he look good. With each press, his abs and pecs flex. His thick thighs hang off the side and I imagine myself naked climbing up them like a monkey.
A shiver runs down my spine thinking about all the things I’d like to do to that body.
