Gabe jumped up. “Are you kidding? This is incredible. We’re going to be daddies.”

“Hell yeah! It’s a fucking miracle! We need to be celebrating, not crying in the bathroom,” Dustin said, almost cheering.

“Are you sure?” Emily asked. “Are we all sure? How about tours and bookings and…”

“Don’t worry about any of that. We’ll figure it all out. Our managers will figure it all out. But tonight, we need to celebrate. You’re a mama, Em. You have a real human growing inside you. Is that why you weren’t feeling well tonight?”

“I haven’t been feeling good for a couple of weeks now but didn’t want to say anything.”

“Baby, this is the best news any of us has ever gotten in our lives… well, this and our first number one song, but I think this outshines even that,” I told her, teasing.

She chuckled. “Now come on out of here and let’s celebrate,” Dustin said.

She stood then. Her tears gone and a smile on her face.

“We need to tell my parents. They’re going to be sooo…”

“Can we just keep this between us for a couple of days?” she asked, cutting me off. “We can tell everyone at the same time, but for now, let’s just keep it close until I get used to the idea that we’re going to be a real family. Wow! A baby! How did this happen?”

We were passing her bed when she asked that question.

“Seriously?” Cody asked.

She smirked. “Seriously.”

“Do we have to show you?” Dustin asked.

“In detail,” she said, flinging herself onto the middle of the bed.

Oh, mama!

For the rest of the week, there was little sitting by the pool, lounging. Demonstrating how she’d gotten pregnant became our fulltime job… that and figuring out how to make this all work in our favor.

Which, in the scheme of things, it already had.
