Page 46 of Hold On

Dominic’s eyes were glazed.

“Ready?” Ren asked.

“For what?”

“I’ve forgotten.”

Dominic laughed.

In the garage, Ren pushed the jacket into his arms. “Put it on or you’ll be cold.”

It felt wrong to be turned on seeing Dominic zipped into Will’s Marlon Brando-style jacket, but he was. It was a little loose, but paired with the white T-shirt, grey jeans and dark boots, Dominic looked like every gay biker’s wet dream. Ren was rethinking where to go, rethinking the whole day, wondering if he could take Dominic to a hotel, if that was too much.

Yes, because you’ll freak out.

Ren helped him put on the helmet and checked it was fastened properly before he donned his own.

“We can talk to each other through the head gear. You can tell me to speed up.”

“Or slow down.”

“You can try.” Ren popped the foot pegs down on the bike. “Just do exactly what I tell you.”Oh God. The thought of Dominic doing exactly what Ren told him sent a rush of heat down his spine.

He climbed on, dealt with the kickstand and watched Dominic tug on the gloves.

“Only get on when I’m standing up or you’ll tip the bike. Hand on my shoulder, left foot on the peg and drag your right leg over.”

Ren stood up and Dominic got on behind him and sat down. Ren sat too, his feet firmly planted on the ground.

“No seat belt?” Dominic asked.

“Do you want to be tethered to 240 kilograms of hot metal as you slide down the road at high speed?”

“No, but if you stop abruptly, I’ll go flying.”

“That’s true, but trust me, death will be kinder if you’re not fastened on. You’re more likely to keep your skin.”

He heard Dominic gulp.

“Either hold the grab bars or me. Ready?”

“What do I have to do?”

“Lean when I do, but don’t overdo it. Don’t put your feet down until I tell you that you can. Hold on and have fun.”

Ren turned on the bike and moments later they were heading down the drive away from Asquith. Dominic’s hands slid around his chest.

“Bit lower,” Ren said.

Dominic moved his hands down.

“Bit lower.”

“Fuck off.”

Ren chuckled.

“If I come off, you’re coming with me,” Dominic said.
