“How did I get here?” Ren asked. “Last thing I remember is getting on the train.”

Dominic laughed. “You were a bit drunk.”

“And you looked after me?” Ren slid closer.

“I only had to carry you from the couch to the bed.”

“Have you done your back in?”

“No.”

“Then carry me to the shower?”

Dominic growled. “Don’t push your luck.”

“Why don’t I have a headache?”

“Because I made you drink a load of water. I looked up what to do to avoid a hangover, though the first suggestion was not to drink too much in the first place.”

“I didn’t think I had.”

“You opened that bottle of champagne on the train.”

“You let me?”

Dominic smiled. “You’re not easy to say no to.”

“Carry me to the shower!”

“How about I run a bath in Col and Theo’s room?”

“And make me a bacon sandwich?”

“You run the bath and I’ll make the sandwich.”

Once Dominic had climbed out of bed, Ren followed. They were both naked.

“Don’t burn your precious bits,” Ren called. “Two slices of bread. Four rashers. Crispy enough to snap in half. No sauce. Please! Guess what my last but one slave died of?”

Dominic turned at the door. “He didn’t make the bacon crisp enough?”

“Right. Don’t let me down. You’re doing so well.”

Dominic rolled his eyes. Ren went down the hallway to Col and Theo’s room, started the water running and squirted in bath gel. While the bath was filling, he went back to get the towels.

By the time Dominic came in with the bacon sandwich, Ren was reclining in foamy water. Dominic handed him a towel to dry his hands, then held out the plate.

“You not having one?” Ren asked.

Dominic shook his head.

“Mmmm.” Ren moaned as he chewed. “Mmm…mmmm…mmmmm.”

“I take it the bacon is crispy enough?” Dominic was kneeling next to the bath.

“Open your mouth,” Ren said.

“Why?”
