Teddy:Haha Good morning beautiful x

Adeline:I don’t like snow xx

Teddy:No one likes snow Addie its cold and gross x

I smiled and put my phone on the table as I got ready for the day. It’s weird how Teddy kinda snuck up on me. One day I didn’t know him and the next he was the first person to say good morning and the last to wish me good night. And every moment in between I found myself thinking about him.

Later in the day, when I was sat drinking hot chocolate and doing my makeup, I received a message from Cillian.

Cillian:7pm. Espace Vide. Still coming? Xx

Adeline:Yep! I’ll be there, with my glamorous assistant! ?? x

Cillian:What does that mean?! Who??

Adeline?

I laughed to myself, imagining Cillian’s face when he sees Sage turn up. I quickly fired off a message to said wild haired witch to update her on the time and place and chuckled again at my plan. Putting my phone back on the dressing table, I finished off my hair and makeup. I stepped back to look over my outfit in the mirror. My phone buzzed with a notification and as I picked it up I saw a message from Teddy rather than Cillian.

Teddy:Heyy, What you up to? xx

I smiled, taking a quick selfie and sending it in reply.

Adeline:Just going into the city, jealous?

His reply came instantly.

Teddy:?? Umm… I am now! x

I laughed, my heart doing a little backflip at his words as I typed my reply. My phone vibrated again as another message came through before I got a chance.

Teddy:Is that a tattoo I spy?! xx

I looked down at myself, my regular concealment charm doing its job at covering my most obvious tattoos. Frowning, I opened the picture I had sent and squinted. There, nestled between my cleavage, the beginning of ink which descended beneath the dark green silk of my dress.

Adeline:Just how close were you looking at the picture, Teddy! x

Teddy:Close enough! ??

I blushed, honest to the Gods - blushed, what was this boy doing to me.

Teddy:You didn’t answer my question…

I swallowed. My fingers hovering over the keyboard on my phone. I closed my eyes and without letting myself second guess the decision, I placed the phone on my table and whispered the necessary spell to remove the concealment charm over my skin. I lifted my phone and pulled my shoulders back, shaking my long, loosely waved hair out behind me, I took another selfie. My red lips slightly pouted. The real me on show.

Teddy:Holy shit! BRB! xx

I laughed loudly and shoved my phone in my clutch bag, grabbing a long form-fitting black coat. I tied it closed round my waist and made my way to the back of the school.

Forty-Four

Adeline

Ispotted Cillian sitting at the bar as I arrived, it always eased something in my chest seeing him in his normal clothes. He turned upon hearing the door open, a slow smile spreading across his face, “There she is!” He said, standing to greet me.

“Hi,” I answered, kissing him on the cheek, my heels giving me the lift needed to just about reach Cillian’s 6’3.
