“Oh, could I?” A manic smile spread across her face which gave me slight regret at saying anything.

“Yes…”

I pulled my phone out to message Cillian.

Adeline:Blessed Samhain xx

Cillian:And to you. Same time? X

Adeline:Yep, see you then ??

Cillian:X

I paused, sending a similar greeting to Teddy.

Adeline:Oíche Shamhna Shona Daoibh x

Teddy:Bless you!

Adeline:LOL! Happy Samhain, idiot x

Teddy:Well that’s mean. I don’t know if I will have a happy Samhain now ??

Adeline:?? Okay, I’m sorry you’re not an idiot. Better? x

Teddy:I dunno… I’m still pretty hurt…

Adeline:Oh wonderful and wise Teddy, I’m sorry I have wronged you, silly me… you’re so much smarter than I.

Teddy:?? Well if you insist. A ‘handsome’ or ‘sexy’ wouldn’t have hurt either…

Jus sayin’…

Adeline:Oh I didn’t want to lie! x

Teddy:Hey!

Adeline: ?? ??

Teddy:You wicked witch x

I looked up to see we had reached the West building and Sage was holding the door open for me, a curious look on her face.

“Sorry, did you say something?”

“Nope,” she smirked and waved me through the door in an annoying way that made me want to hit her on top of the head with a rolled up newspaper. “So the dress code… like warm and comfortable because we’re outside or… party?” She said the last word like she was personally offended and it was my time to smirk.

“Just wear whatever you like. There’s no one to impress.”

“What will you wear?”

“I don’t know… something black.”

“Obviously.”

I gave her a look as we climbed the spiral staircase, “I’ll probably just wear something casual.”

“I’ve never seen you in something casual.”
