“You shouldn’t be here. We have a curfew,” I said into the ringing silence. Gods it was loud in there.
“Neither should you.”
I laughed, “Oh that’s true… You’re clever.”
“And you’re drunk.”
“I am not,” I protested.
“Yes… You are.” He shook his head as though I was an annoyance to him.
“Why are you even here? You hate me.”
He rubbed a hand over his face and looked up at the night sky, Gods he was handsome. I wish I could tell him, wish I could be the one touching that stubble. His jaw clenched as he met my eyes, “I don’t… you should go back to campus.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Don’t… don’t say that.”
I smirked, “Why?”
“It’s not safe out here. Your mom will murder you if she finds out you snuck off campus.”
“Probably,” I said, feigning a shrug. “I’m going back inside, some nice boy might buy me another drink.”
“For the love of… Adeline, go home.” He snapped.
“Yes, daddy.” I teetered past him, walking my fingers along his chest as I went. His eyes darkened as he watched me. “You know you have a twitch… right… here.” I placed my scarlet nail against his cheek bone. He shut his eyes briefly at the touch before stepping away.
“It’s because you drive me crazy.” He stated, his voice gravelly. “Come on, your cab’s here.”
“I didn’t call one… I don’t think.”Did I?
“No, I did.” He said, answering my unspoken question.
I sighed dramatically, and wandered over to the black taxi that had pulled up alongside us. Theo leaned into the drivers side to speak to the taxi-man, handing him some notes. He pushed off the vehicle and gave me one last look.
“Are you not getting in?” I called through the open window.
“No. I have stuff I need to do.” He answered, without looking at me. The taxi pulled away and I turned in my seat to look at Theo through the dark glass. He didn’t go back inside the club, at least. The thought of him dancing with anyone made my insides feel sharp and lethal.

“Gods, I’m hungover.” I laid back against the sofa with a wet flannel over my eyes. Dorcas snorted and sat down heavily beside me, shoving my feet out of the way. “Eurgh. Don’t move me.”
She cackled and my ears were met with a metallic scraping sound and a smell which turned my stomach. “Why are you eating next to me?” I shifted the flannel and stared at her. “I will vomit on you… On purpose.”
“By the Gods, you’re dramatic.”
“Oh fuck off will you.”
“Hey,” Sage’s voice cut in softly, almost nervously. “I’m going to see Theo.” Theo! I groaned once more as the events from last night came flooding back. Oh Gods. Kill me now.
“He can piss off too!” I called out to her as she left the dorm.
