“I’m happy to help you. I love organizing things,” I say.

“A typical luna trait,” Elodie points out while linking our arms.

“To imagine how terrified I first was at the prospect of becoming luna,” I admit.

“Same,” she says. “I was so scared of any changes that I didn’t even want to have Henry mark me first. You know…” she pauses. “Everyone always says that he is so rough and arrogant, but he didn’t even hesitate one second when I told him my doubts and instantly adapted to my pace without complaining.”

“Others don’t know him like we do,” I say. “But on the upside, it means he will be a bit of a scary alpha to the outside. And that’s not too bad either.”

“You are right. Good point.” She chuckles. “How are things with Tony? I heard he is working his ass off at college.”

“He is really working a lot. He wants to graduate as soon as possible. And… I…” I brush over my hair, feeling both anxious and excited about the prospect. Anxious because I don’t want to jinx it and excited because I kind of want it to happen. “I honestly think that Tony is going to ask me soon.”

“Do you want to marry him?” she asks.

“I do, though… I don’t want it to be a huge wedding. Not that anything is wrong with celebrating the way you do,” I blurt out. “It’s just… it’s not me.”

“I get you, Dalila,” Elodie reassures me. “I honestly didn’t know this was what I wanted until Henry and I started planning. But you do you, and I do I.”

“Exactly, and for now, you are the star, not me! So let’s make sure to get a look at as many venues as possible.”

Elodie and I spend hours roaming venues. She doesn’t like the very fancy ones in town, but eventually, we find a romantic old villa in the suburbs, which is perfect. She wants to have a classic wedding with live music and have food served, which the location provides.

During the following weeks, Elise and I help her with organizing everything. Weirdly enough, we get help from Dave. While I got to know him first through his search for Finn, it’s Elise who actually became friends with him. Now, she refers to him as her human friend in Tony’s D&D group.

Dave is like me. He is a human mated to a werewolf, so we share quite a bit, and I’m glad to see a bit more of him.

Well, maybe he isn’texactlylike me. I’m still of werecat heritage, and I’m half deity. I do feel more human than anything else, though, and he understands that better than my other friends.

“With your caramel skin, you can wear all those vibrant colors.” He sighs dreamily when he helps me choose a dress for the wedding.

“I’m so short, though,” I mutter.

“Then wear something short!” Dave emphasizes.

“I’m too curvy—”

“Babe.” He rolls his eyes. “Other women would die for your ass.”

I laugh. “Tony likes my ass, too.”

“Tony likes everything about you.” Dave grins. “He talks nonstop about you. He calls you his Egyptian goddess.”

I cringe inwardly, but at the same time, I feel happy. Oh, Tony. With Dave’s help, however, I find a beautiful azure-blue dress. It’s a bit tighter than I usually wear, but I’ve been feeling bold recently.

I don’t show it to Tony until the day of Henry’s and Elodie’s wedding has finally approached. Elodie had someone come to do our makeup and hair so that we look exactly the way we want to. When I show myself to Tony, he looks completely spellbound. He really has his way of boosting my confidence whenever he looks at me.

“Wow,” he mutters, looking at me hungrily. “Good thing you didn’t show it to me beforehand. I would have totally ripped it off your body.”

“Good thing you are so aware of your own shortcomings.” I laugh. “My silly wolf.”

He kisses me, but even through his kiss, I can feel his nerves.

“You will be great,” I reassure him. He is Henry’s best man and will say a few words during the wedding. “Talking is your forte, remember?”

“What about you?” he asks me.

“Elise will do the talking, and Elodie prefers it if we keep it short and simple.”
