“And when the prison he and his cult created for Auset got destroyed,” I say. “He had to leave her mind, and it got restored to what it originally was.”

Elden nods at me with a smile. “Auset for sure is aware of what’s going on,” he says. “Now that she is awake, she hopefully can tell us more.”

“Uncle Elden.” Arman looks at him. “The goddess Bastet told me my last name. My sister and I can finally search for the roots of my father’s side.”

Elden smiles at him. “Now you can finally get some answers.”

“And the rest of us should probably talk to Auset,” Elodie says.

“I agree,” Elden says. “I will leave this to you.”

“You aren’t coming with us?” Tony blinks.

“I will help if needed and stay in the background,” Elden says. “But you were chosen for this. You are going to be alphas sooner than later, especially with Jace becoming a father once more. He will hand a lot of responsibilities to you. This is your mission. Elodie and Elise came to you for help, and the Goddess made sure to mate one of you to a deity.” He pauses. “If you truly need help with anything else to come, I will be there. But I think you have it covered.”

Tony and Henry exchange a gaze. Instead of looking intimidated, though, they look proud.

I snort inwardly. Alphas are truly a special species.

Preparing for Battle

*ANTHONY*

Truetohisword,Uncle Elden takes a step back and lets us handle everything from now on. It should feel intimidating, but in a way, both Henry and I are eager to take this responsibility. Harmony and Arman returned to their pack for now. Both of them promised us that they would be here whenever we call on them.

So, for now, it’s just the core team… Henry and I with our amazing mates, and Marcel with Elise.

“Thank you, Princess Cassiopeia.” I smile at the werecat princess. Her fingers are wrapped around her mate’s hand. She looks happy. “For allowing us to talk to your aunt Auset.”

“Auset is my only family,” she tells us, her stoic and regal expression making place for a gentle one. “She is all I have, and you brought her back to me.”

Callum wraps his arms around her. “You have me too now,” he says gently. He looks at her full of love. Yeah, he is clearly smitten with his werecat mate.

“I know.” her fingers brush over his hand. “My future prince.” She looks at us. “Once we are sure that Aunt Auset and my pride are safe, Callum and I will relocate and rebuild it. For real, this time. We will choose a place close to his pack so that we can be close to his family and hopefully become allies.”

They both step aside a bit for us to enter her aunt’s room. “If you need anything, we are around,” Callum tells us.

“Thank you.” Dalila smiles at them. “And we are really happy for the both of you.”

I wasn’t sure what to expect when we entered Auset’s room. The elderly lady spent weeks in a coma, but to my surprise, she looks really refreshed when we come in. “I expected you.” She smiles brightly. “Cass told me everything. Come and sit down.”

“We are glad that you are doing better,” Elodie says.

“And we apologize for disturbing you,” Dalila adds.

Auset laughs. “Two future lunas, both of the same pack. That’s rare.”

“How did you know?” Elodie asks, surprised.

“Just a feeling.” Auset gestures towards the little table and chairs, and we sit down there. She herself staying in her bed.

“Were you able to reunite with your lynx?” I ask.

She nods. “Lapis is back with me. When I was attacked, it was a spontaneous instinct to separate her from me, but it indeed saved us.”

“How did she end up in your mind, though?”
