At my words, Elodie stands up, her eyes shooting daggers at me. Tony catches on instantly. “Yeah.” He grins. “Our two cute dwarves. Together, they are one person.”

Dad and Beta Deacon laugh slightly while Mom shakes her head at our silly antics. “Oh, really,” Dalila retorts all of a sudden. “Maybe the both of you are just too tall!”

“You couldn’t handle us if we were taller,” Elodie says, obviously relieved about Dalila’s backup.

“We would be too much woman for you.” Dalila nods.

“Hm,” Tony hums, letting go of my shoulder and wrapping his arms around his mate. “You would never be too much woman for me.”

I roll my eyes at his smoothness while Elodie smirks at me.You could learn a thing or two from your brother, you know?

What!?I exclaim.

I’m just saying.She sighs.He knows how to woo a woman.

While I’m still recovering from the shock, I can see her lips twitch slightly into a smirk.Oh, you,I growl.I will make you pay for this.

She smirks.Keep that thought for later.

Eventually, all of us make it to the table where Dad is obviously itching to comment more about Tony and me being marked, but I have a feeling Mom’s preventing him from doing as he pleases. Tony, meanwhile, joins us for breakfast, claiming he could have seconds, while Dalila is completely amazed by how much he can eat.

We all enjoy this little family time. It’s rare for us all to be in the same space at the same time, especially with Mom and Dad. Mom has entered the last phase of her pregnancy, and she is really showing a lot now. I can’t wait for our little sister to be here, and I’m so happy her dream of a child was fulfilled. If anyone deserves good things happening to them, then it’s Mom.

After breakfast, Tony, Elodie, Dalila, and I drive back to Silverlake. Uncle Elden told us to be there around 11 a.m. for Arman to jump into Auset’s mind again. To my surprise, Marcel and Elise are already awaiting us, and next to them is a tall, muscular, blond guy and his cute, delicate mate.

I can’t believe it!

“Steve!” I call out after Tony has parked the car, and we can finally greet our friends.

“It’s good to see you!” Tony exclaims.

Steve beams, giving Tony a hug and squeezing my hand.

Elodie clasps his shoulder in excitement before hurrying towards the fragile-looking woman. When I first met her, she was just skin and bones, the pallor of her skin gray, and she was so weak she couldn’t even walk long distances. She had lost all the connection to her wolf. But now she is smiling and looks so healthy, and also—

“You and Ryllis marked each other,” I whisper.

Steve nods with a gentle smile.

I don’t comment on it further. Amaryllis is a rape survivor, and it took her a while to be ready to get closer to Steve. Steve is amazing, though. He is always so gentle and patient.

“I’m so sorry we couldn’t make it to Elise’s and Elodie’s birthday party,” Steve says.

“It’s so good to see you,” Elodie says before hugging Ryllis again. “You look great.”

“Thank you.” Ryllis smiles shyly. “I’m feeling quite good, too.” She tosses a shy gaze towards Steve and smiles.

Steve instantly hurries to her side and gently puts an arm around her shoulder. He kisses the top of her head. Tony makes sure to pull Dalila closer and hugs her to his chest. “Ryllis, Steve.” He beams proudly. “Meet my mate. Dalila.”

Ryllis’ eyes widen in surprise and joy. “You met your mate?”

“I’m so happy for you.” Steve beams. Both of them shake Dalila’s hand. “I’m Steve, and that’s my mate Amaryllis.”

“I can’t believe we all found our mates.” Marcel chuckles.

“Same.” Steve smiles. “And I can’t believe Henry and Elodie are mates, too. Now, to me, Elise and her chocolate prince were less of a surprise.”

“Hey,” Marcel snorts. “Who are you calling chocolate prince!? That’s only for Elise to say.”
