“Emilien?” Anthony asks.
“That’s my prince’s beta,” she explains. “You know Eric, right? He is Finn’s cousin and a prince of the Council. Elise and I are his advisors.”
“I completely forgot how important you are,” Henry admits honestly.
Marcel snorts at his words. “You’re right. I forgot about it too.”
“Same.” Steve smiles brightly. “To me, you are all just my friends, not some high-ranking wolves.”
We all laugh and agree. Henry looks a bit surprised by Steve’s words, but smiles at him and nods.
When we are almost at the other side of the lake, a sudden aura hits me without me even using my gift. It’s a strong, powerful one, straightforward and confident. There is only one type of person with this kind of aura. A royal lycan with alpha blood in them.
I raise my head, checking our surroundings, until I can see a jeep parked at the edge of the lake and a person leaning against it.
No way! It can’t be!

*FINN*
It’simpossible!Butit’sclearly her. The long deep chocolate-colored hair, athletic figure, the confident posture, and her aura, kind but strong.
“Goddess,” I blurt out and start sprinting towards her. “I can’t believe it!”
She laughs and meets me halfway, hugging me tight. “Finn, shit, I was so worried!” She moves back a bit to look at me. It’s funny because she is as tall as I am now. She used to be tiny when we were kids, but she definitely caught up. “You don’t look like you got hurt, thank Goddess.” She grins. “You look like shit, though.” She scans the group that’s hurried after me. “Actually, you all look like shit.”
“I’m amazed you didn’t get knocked over by our delicious smell.” Marcel grins. “No offense, Princess. I’m sure you can take a lot, but I think we are a bit much at the moment.”
“You are.” She smirks. “But I’m just too happy to see you to complain. At least we are safe from any rogue attacks or wild animals chasing us.”
I chuckle. “I’ve missed you and your snark.” I take her arm and lead her towards Freya. “I want you to meet someone.” I let go of her arm and step to Freya, taking her hand in mine. “This is Freya, my mate.” I can’t help but smile like an idiot to have two of my favorite people in the same place. I point at our knight in shining armor, who just came to pick us up. “And this is my sister, Aurelia.”
Freya looks surprised before a careful smile spreads across her lips. She seems unsure as to how to greet my sister, but Aurelia beats her to it by beaming at her and pulling her into a hug. “I’m so happy for the both of you,” she exclaims. “I can’t believe you had to travel to such a shitty pack to find your mate! This will make an awesome story, Finn!”
“You bet,” I point out. “What’s new at home?”
“You mean aside from everyone going crazy because we couldn’t reach you guys?” she asks. “Uncle Jace almost tore Dad’s office down in worry.”
I smile when I notice the twins’ expressions of surprise and slight joy—told them.
“They were all so devastated when that weird alpha of Blood Snow called Jace’s beta and told him you and the others were dead.”
I exchange a gaze with my friends. “It means that Colton and his men truly bought it,” I say, relieved.
“Oh, that was part of the plan?” She looks at me in interest.
“I’ll tell you everything once we’re home.”
She nods, her eyes finally catching Amaryllis too. “And who’s this?” she asks with a warm smile.
“My mate, Amaryllis,” Steve says proudly.
Aurelia smiles brightly and clasps his shoulder. “Congrats, Steve! Your family will be so happy.”
“You’re an alpha she-wolf…lycan, right?” Freya asks curiously. “Can female lycans with alpha blood hold higher ranks, just like male wolves?”
