“See anything you like?” he asks darkly.
My stomach churns at how he pretends these women are objects. I play along though. “I’m not going to lie,” I say with a smirk, “but some of the girls aren’t bad. Right guys?”
“Absolutely.” Anthony backs me up with a creepy smile. “Maybe we can come back to your offer later, Alpha Colton?”
I’m impressed he can pull it off. The others remain quiet, probably not trusting themselves not to give anything away in this situation. It’s not necessary for them to add anything to the conversation, though. Tony and I are enough.
The alpha looks content with our interest. “I was hoping you would like what we present you with. Tomorrow we’ll have the banquet, and then I’ll make sure you get the girls you want to have. We have a few desirable objects here.”
Again I have to fight the urge to let my anger out and instead force a smile to my lips. “Thank you for your generosity, Alpha Colton.”
We all politely wish him a good night before retreating to our suites. “I have nothing to say.” Elise breaks the silence once we are in our rooms. “Literally nothing.”
“I do,” Elodie states calmly. “One of the warriors next to me was groping me.”
We all spin around to stare at her. “What?” I roar.
She shrugs. “Couldn’t be helped. I didn’t want to blow our cover, but tomorrow I want to sit between one of you guys.”
“Anthony or I can take one of the places next to the warriors,” Henry points out. I’m relieved to see he has indeed calmed down by now. He was in a better mood earlier, but after hearing Elodie's words he looks pissed. “They are definitely not going to grope me.”
“Good idea.” I frown in worry. This is not good. Elise and Elodie are guests here, yet they are already treated like mere objects.
“You and Marcel are right.” Steve mutters. “We need to get away from here as fast as possible and return with reinforcement.”
“We need to be careful, though.” I frown. “An open attack might do more harm than good. We’ll need to work on a proper strategy.”
“Yes, but not here.” Marcel interrupts. “We can't do shit here. We need to leave ASAP and then return as fast as possible.”
I link them all to be safe. The Council is not going to be happy.
The Council will be furious,Elise agrees. She sounds angry and upset. When I tell Prince Eric all of this, he will be raging. They will probably take it as the final reason to build a base here on this continent too.
That’s not the only thing he’ll be upset about,I point out.Remember the warrior who accompanied us to the pack house? The guys already know him because he organizes our training, but I don’t think you and Elodie have met him yet.
Do you mean the guard?Elodie wants to know.
No, the other one, the strong-looking guy who brought us to Colton’s office. Arman.
Elodie nods.Of course, the nurses and omegas talk a lot about him. They seem to respect him. He is said to be a tough warrior.
I sigh.He is also a lycan.
WHAT?Elodie exclaims.
I don’t know if he is a full lycan or not, but he is definitely of lycan heritage,I explain.I was able to detect it in his aura.
Elise instantly pins me with piercing eyes. But there are no registered lycans here in Blood Snow. I know it. The Council keeps track of the lycan population.
Maybe he isn’t aware of it,I point out.He doesn’t look like he was born into this pack.
He wasn’t,Elise explains.I heard it from the nurses. He and his sister were stranded here when they were only kids, and the ship they traveled on wrecked. They were the sole survivors. The beta raised them.
Aren’t orphans in this pack shunned normally?Anthony wants to know
I assume for Arman and his sister, it was different because of their strength. Colton, for sure, knows what they are and grooms them accordingly while still making sure they wouldn’t be able to realize how strong they are,I explain. He’s made Arman an average elite warrior instead of giving him a rank, although he is easily the strongest here. Unfortunately for us, Colton isn’t an idiot.
Cunton,my wolf growls.Don’t call him by his name.
