Meanwhile, Flora has made her way towards Elden to kiss him. “Are you staying for breakfast?” he asks.
“No,” she giggles. “I just wanted to stop by to see you and then return. Liam and Marius are currently questioning the Blood Snow warriors.” There is suddenly a dangerous glint in her eyes. “I thought I could help.”
A devilish smirk curls Elden’s lips. “Don’t have too much fun with them.”
“Oh, you…” Flora makes a dismissive gesture with her hand. “Like I would ever…” She snickers, then she is back to her usual self, waving at us and skipping away. Trixie follows her. They both disappear as fast as they came. So, she is close to the Moon Goddess. I feel like what she just shared with me was a sign of how much she trusts me, and it makes me happy how accepting both she and Elden are.

FinnandImakeit out of the dining room together after a simple but filling breakfast when we bump into… “Emmanuel!” I squeal, hugging my friend tightly. “I’m so glad you’re okay!”
“You too.” He beams, hugging me back.
He lets go of me when he sees Finn right behind me. “I’m sorry, Lord Finn,” he stutters.
Finn shakes his head. “I would never share my mate with anyone, but you are friends.”
Emmanuel looks relieved, and I smile happily, seeing how much Finn trusts me. He might be territorial, but he would never prevent me from hugging an old friend I thought I would never see again. I look up at Emmanuel, my eyes widening. “You’re marked!” I blurt out.
Emmanuel blushes. “Well, what can I say…”
“Someone didn’t waste any time.” Finn grins. “The twins are going to have a field day once I tell them.”
“Mattie is really sweet.” Emmanuel looks flustered but happy. “I honestly can’t believe how fast everything changed. First, Blood Snow gets attacked, and come to find out, it’s to get rid of that asshat Colton. Then you, Freya, appear by jumping out of the lake. The guy who originally visited us for a weird exchange program is an alpha’s son. Not only that, but the hunk is also your mate. And then I find my own mate.” He throws his arms in the air. “Goodness, I can’t believe it.”
I smile at him. “Everything will change for the better now,” I say.
He grins. “The bar is not too high, though.”
“We’ll make sure to set it high,” Finn promises.
Emmanuel nods, a hopeful smile on his lips. He looks at Finn, seemingly amazed, as he takes his whole appearance in. When Finn isn’t looking at him, he nods at me and gives me the thumbs up, making me giggle.
“Did I miss something?” Finn asks curiously while Emmanuel takes that moment to scurry off to Goddess knows where.
“Nothing.” I smile, locking our arms and leaning against him.
He nudges me with his shoulder. “Well, you can keep your secrets for now.” He flashes me a smirk. “I’m sure I’ll find a way to extract them from you later.”
I wiggle my brows at him. “Let’s see if you’ll be successful.”
He smiles innocently at me before catching me off-guard and pulling me into a heated kiss. When we draw apart, I’m panting slightly. “Keep that thought,” he whispers.
I’m about to answer when I see my two new mermen… or rather siren allies, approaching. “See you later,” I whisper.
Finn kisses me once more, before hurrying to meet with some of his warriors.
“Freya.” Nen runs towards me, almost stumbling while he does so. Aenon grumbles at his clumsiness but doesn’t comment on it further. “It’s so fun to walk on land and be here with you! Now we can see each other as often as we want!”
Sadness fills my heart when I remember that my stay here is just a brief visit, and I will leave them behind eventually.
Aenon seems to sense my feelings because he squeezes my arm. “How about we grab something to drink and retreat somewhere quiet.”
I nod. I fetch us some tea and take some cookies Ludovica forces on me—not without reminding me that we need to catch up later. Then I find an empty meeting room for the three of us to talk without anyone interrupting us.
