The Prophecy

*FINN*

Wehaddinnerwitheveryone before the twins and Janice headed home to their pack to see that everything was going well there. Anthony and Henry will return in a few days, as both are eager to fight alongside Freya and me to free the pack. I know we had a rough start, but they’ve come a long way.

I’ve always seen them as my little brothers, so I’m glad they’ve finally grown up and come to terms with their past. Also, that they realize they are capable of more than they thought.

“Listen, Finn,” Henry says earnestly when it’s just the three of us for a moment. “We know we were shit at the beginning.”

“Yeah, we gave you a hard time.” Anthony shows me a lopsided smile. “Good thing you told us off more than once. We really needed this mission with you and the others.”

“First, we thought Dad sent us to punish us,” Henry admits. “And we hated being there at the beginning. But this whole adventure helped us a lot.”

The twins exchange a gaze. “We wanted to apologize for being such assholes,” Anthony says.

“Yeah, it wasn’t okay,” Henry agrees. “Also, how we treated Steve. Honestly, we were just trying to deal with our shit.” He pauses. “We’ve talked to Steve too,” he adds.

“But you are like an older brother to us, and we wanted to apologize to you too,” Tony says.

I’m honestly shocked. I know alpha wolves; I’ve lived with many of them. I know from my father, and my brother Liam that apologizing doesn’t come easy to alphas. So for the twins to swallow their pride and approach me to apologize means a lot. “Please don’t mention it again.” I squeeze Anthony’s shoulder. “Maybe we had a rocky start, but you came around and tried your best to help. I’m glad you came with us. We all had some growing up to do.”

Anthony smiles slightly. “You’re alright, man.”

“Promise me you’ll continue to improve from now on.”

Henry chuckles. “Anthony and I have talked a lot since we arrived back at Silverlake; we talked to Dad too. We told him we want to be more involved in the pack and the responsibilities that come with it. We are going to take over the pack in a few years, and we can’t keep slacking off anymore. Time to take some responsibility and live up to our rank.”

“Our old man almost had a heart attack when we told him our thoughts.” Anthony grins. “We can’t undo the past, but we’ll certainly try to do better from now on.”

Look at these pups,I say to Max, feeling proud that the trip with me gave them the final push. Max, however, doesn’t answer, and he seems to be in a deep slumber and growling about Freya and Sereia.Oh, forget it,I mutter, mentally rolling my eyes.

How I love talking to myself.

I turn my attention back to the twins. “One thing though…I know it’s not my business, so please don’t take this the wrong way. But I think you should tell your parents about the things that troubled you, don’t you think?”

Anthony and Henry exchange another glance, then Henry shrugs. “We talked about that too. We will…”

“Just not immediately,” Anthony says. “We need a little more time to process everything. It’s not an easy conversation we’ll need to have.”

“Of course.” I smile.

“See you in a few days, Finn.” Tony waves at me while Henry gives me a firm nod.

“We can’t wait to take down Blood Snow,” Henry says.

I nod at them, allowing them to take their leave.

Once the twins leave, I hurry back into the pack house to meet with Anders before heading towards my dad’s office. This is the meeting both Freya and I have been waiting for, as we can finally address everything that happened at Blood Snow, but also discuss Freya’s prophecy.

My parents, Marcel, Steve, Freya, and Jace are already there. The only one who is not attending is Ryllis. Freya talked to her beforehand and left it up to her if she wanted to join, but she decided against it. Both Freya and Steve seem relieved she prioritized her mental health, and Freya is here to speak on their behalf about exactly what’s going on in that goddess-forsaken pack.

“I apologize,” I say shortly. “Henry and Anthony wanted to talk to me briefly.”

“Don’t worry, you are right on time,” Mom reassures me.

I blink when I notice that my father’s beta is missing. “Where is Vince?”
