Resigned to taking her money despite my misgivings, I sighed. “Thank you, Caroline. I don’t know how I’m going to repay you.”

“Oh, I can think of a few ways.” A smile shone through her words.

I chuckled. “I’m a little too old to be your plaything.”

“I don’t know about that. You’re more virile than men half your age.”

“I’m not normally jealous, but I’d hate another man touching you.”
