Nicco confidence was overwhelming. He believed everything he was saying and therefore I had to believe it too. Could he really fixed my problem? I had to have faith in him. Obviously fixing problems for something he did regularly. It was a part of his life. It was a part of his legacy. I couldn’t deny that.
I went into detail about everything Lauren had said to me at the diner. I also we called every Single encounter I had with the woman. I didn’t have much information on her which didn’t seem to bother Nicco. I had her name I had her job. Nicco had connections at the Chicago Police Department and he even had someone from the department on payroll.
I didn’t know much about his operations. Until now I didn’t need to know anything about the mafia but things change and here I am.
After I told Nicco all there was to know, I gave Bria I’ll call been told her I would be home late. I hope she couldn’t hear the worry and my voice. I have checked surveillance cameras and I could see you that she was safe and sound in my loft. If any harm came to my girl I knew that would take me over the edge.

When I arrived home Bria what’s asleep in bed. I showered and got into bed with her and held her close to me. I couldn’t really get any sleep. I was too worked up. I was too frustrated. And I was fucking pissed off that I let this Lauren bitch into my life. I could strangle her with my bare hands. She had some nerve trying to blackmail me. She was going to have to die. What were my other options? She had kids and a husband and I have never taken a life. But she was threatening the life of people that I loved. What kind of real man could ever stand silently and let that happen.
I drifted off to sleep a few times and you dreamed about how Lauren would die. There were so many ways to die. I couldn’t narrow down which way I wanted that bitch to die.
The next morning Bria had to go to work at the bookstore. She sensed something was wrong with me. I lied and told her everything was fine that I was just having some problems at the office. I wasn’t sure if she believed me or not. She didn’t press me for more information.
I let her leave my place and head to work. I wasn’t sure if she would be safe. There was someone watching my grandmother’s house. But as far as I could tell there was no one watching my house.
I was back at Nicco condo when Bria called to tell me she made it safely to work. I told Lauren I was going to get her the money. There was absolutely no reason for her to harass my girlfriend at the mall. I hoped Lauren knew if she did anything stupid she wouldn’t get the money.
I went back into Nicco’s office and set down in the leather chair in front of his desk. I was eager to hear the information here for me.
“Did you get any sleep?” He asked.
“No not really.”
“How’s your girl?”
“She’s fine. She’s at work. I had to pretend like now of this was going on.”
“That’s what’s best. Do not involve her in any of this. It will get messy. The less she knows the better.”
“I know. I don’t want her involved in any of this.”
“Do you want me to send someone out to watch her?”
“You can do that?”
“Yeah it’s not a problem. I can send one of my guy out to make sure she stays safe.”
“I would appreciate that.”
“I can also send someone to sit outside your grandmothers house. You don’t have to worry. My guys are professionals. No one will even know they’re there.”
“Okay, what do you need?”
“I know where your girlfriend works. I know where your grandmother lives. I just needed the go-ahead from you to send somebody out to watch them.”
“I’m on board.”
“Cool.” I watched as Nicco send a text message on his cell phone. “I just put my people on it.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem. My guy was able to find out a lot of dirt on your lady cop.”
“What do you mean? What did he find out? What’s a lot?
“She has multiple hoping cases with internal affairs. She’s under investigation for police brutality and tampering with evidence thischicais a real piece of work. You sure know how to pick them.”
