“Yes, I got it.” She even knows how to screenshot after I gave her a long tutorial.
“Oh good, sometimes I mess up.”
“Not this time. I got the picture and I will be coming by today after work with your books.”
“You’re the best grandson and I mean it.”
“I’m your only grandson.”
“You’re right but that doesn’t make it any less true. Did you know Jane’s grandson is in jail for murder? She’s so embarrassed but I told her it’s not her fault her daughter married that Russian criminal. The boys father was a no good loser. Her son didn’t have a good male role model growing up. The boy’s father couldn’t even hold a job. What a disgrace.”
I wasn’t sure if the disgrace was the father or his son. I knew I shouldn’t ask. It could turn a two-minute conversation into thirty minutes or more.
“Gram, I have to get back to work. I will see you later. Don’t forget to take your medicine.”
“No, no. I don’t forget anymore. I have the alarm set on my cell phone remember?”
“Yes, I forgot.”
“But I remembered.” She gloated which was fine with me. She did have a very good memory for a woman her age. She had her wits about her and I hoped it stayed that way forever. She was all I had in this world.
“Bye Gram.”
“Bye Lord. Be good.”
“Of course.”
I waited for Gram to end the call. Which took a few seconds. I sat my cell phone down on my desk. I grabbed my coffee cup off the desk and took a few sips.
Christian, my assistant came into my open office door. “Lord, you ready for your meeting?”
“Which one?” I hadn’t looked at my calendar when I arrived this morning.
“The lady.”
“As ready as I’ll ever be.”
“I wish you wouldn’t let them come here.”
“They behave better when I call them into my office. It makes everything official. Doing it at my place or a restaurant doesn’t work. This seems the best way to handle it.”
“I hope so.” Christian doubted. “I don’t think this will work forever.”
“I’ll cross that bridge when someone builds it.”
He took a sit in the chair across from my desk. He’d said something about a lawsuit and I missed most of it. I’d heard just enough to gather some employee sexually harassed another employee and there was a lawsuit looming. These things were an easy fix so I never gave them much attention. I was daydreaming a lot lately and I couldn’t figure out why.
Christian had been my assistant for about five years. When he applied for the position he was fresh out of college and didn’t have any experience. I only hired him because he was male and his name was Christian. I thought it was funny a guy names Christian working for a guy named Lord. I wanted a male assistant for obvious reasons. A woman might distract me and I would probably end up fucking her.
Christian was the closest thing I had to a friend. He was my employee so he did know his role. He handled me well. He made sure I had everything I needed business wise and personal. He made sure my life ran smoothly so I could handle and grow my business.
After he gave me the rundown of my day he darted out of my office. I had some things to take care of today, mostly paperwork. I also had the dreaded confrontation.
At noon Caroline Collins was led into my office. She was tall, blonde and a perfect ten. All my exes were tens. She was no different, flawless body, great teeth, a model maybe. After a few weeks I couldn’t remember what she did for a living.
“Hi, Lord.” She smiled widely as she approached me. She was wearing a strapless dress and come fuck me heels.
If I were a bad man I would fuck her and then hand her the pink slip. I was an asshole but I wasn’t that much of an asshole.
