They made it to the car before Adam looked across the hood at his brother. He had Maverick back in his life. That was worth having to return to his past. But he was only moving forward from here on out.

He’d finish school, work at the coffee shop, have play dates with his friends, and love the men that had become his. The cop and the tattoo artist. They were a mixture of coffee, cops, and tattoos. Their little family had been made by those three things. The coffee shop kids, the cops that watched over them, and the tattoo crew he was just getting to know. His family.

“Take me back to my men,” Adam said.

Maverick grinned. “That I’m more than happy to do.”

Chapter Nineteen

Lucas

“You ready?”

Nash smiled. “Yes.”

“You going to hold his hand, baby?”

Adam leaned forward. “It’s okay? I won’t mess anything up?”

“Just stay on the left side,” Lucas advised. “I can work around you, but I need the light.”

“It’ll be fine,” Nash said. “Come give me a kiss, baby.”

“Now I know that I shouldn’t get you worked up when Lucas is literally putting needles in you.” Adam huffed but smiled.

Lucas picked up the tattoo gun and tested the speed.

Nash didn’t move but Adam flinched.

“It’s okay, baby,” Nash said. “I don’t mind the pain.”

“How could you not mind it?” Adam asked curiously.

“It’s…” Adam gaze went to Lucas before returning to Adam. “You know how I have a problem sitting still?”

“I think that’s putting it mildly but yes,” Adam said.

Lucas began to put his mark on his boy. The design was one that he was extremely proud of. Above Nash’s heart would be his work. Forever inked into Nash’s skin.

The design was simple but meaningful.

The image of a tattoo gun inking a pacifier with a pair of cuffs hanging from the handle of the gun.

It represented all three of them.

“Go on,” Adam said.

“When I’m in this chair, I have to focus on the pain. The buzz of the needle. I can zone out and just be. I don’t have to worry about anything but being in this chair.”

“You know that we love you just the way you are, right?” Adam said. He touched Nash’s arm, but Nash didn’t move so Lucas didn't say anything.

“Does that mean you’ll give me kisses?”

“After,” Adam said with a laugh.

Nash pouted.

Lucas moved the tattoo gun down. He was so fucking pleased to see his mark on his boy’s chest.
