He shrugged. “You’re right, you’re right. Bet you it won’t happen again, though.” He lifted an eyebrow, and the mischievous look he’d had all day returned.

“Oh yeah? We’ll bet on it. Winner gets head.” Simone cocked her hip to the side while Logan rubbed his hands together, already counting himself the winner.

In front of me, Katie laughed, whipping her head over her shoulder. “Don’t even think about making that bet with me right now, mmkay?”

“Why, kitten?” I placed my hand on the side of her neck, holding her head still while I leaned in and brushed my lips over her ear. “Is that because you’re going to give me head tonight either way?”

“Absolutely not.” The way she blushed told me otherwise.

“We’ll see.”

She sighed, leaning forward and placing her same bet. The red and the green zero. Her reasoning was that if she didn’t get the zero, then at least she had a fifty percent chance of getting her money back.

The dealer laughed while we all anxiously watched the small white ball spin and bounce around the wheel. When it landed again on the green zero, he threw his head back and cackled. He smirked at Logan, probably remembering the bet he and Simone had made.

When Simone leaned in and whispered something to him, Logan blushed. “Okay, how often does that really happen more than once in a row like that?”

“I’ve seen it a couple of times,” the dealer said, passing out the winning chips.

“Have you ever seen it more than twice?” he asked. Simone raised her eyebrows. What was Logan getting at?

We all looked at the dealer. “Once.”

“Double or nothing,” Logan said.

Katie’s body shook when she laughed, following behind Simone with her same bet. “Dude, even I’m joining them this time,” I said, adding my own chip to the stack.

Logan imitated the sound of a whip, and I glared. “Whatever, my dude.” He pointed to the dealer with a cocky grin on his face, as if instructing him to toss the ball.

The dealer laughed the kind of laugh that caused his belly, large from years of what were probably family meals around a big dining room table, to shake. Again, the ball bounced and landed in the zero.

“I’d say your girl there is your lucky charm,” he said to Logan.

Katie jumped in a circle in front of me, turning and planting her lips on mine. She fell against me, slowing her attack with long lazy laps of her tongue and wrapping her arms around my neck. I slid my hand down the smooth leather of her dress, landing on the round top of her ass.

“Woah, lovebirds. Get it together,” Ash joked with a wink. I planted a kiss on the blush that warmed Katie’s cheeks.

Logan was still staring angrily at the table, but he set down his bet anyway. “This is bullshit,” he said, half laughing as everyone but him laid another bet on the zero. “You know you’re not going to get it four times in a row. Has that ever happened?” Once again, he turned his attention to the dealer.

“I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been in casinos alotof years.”

Simone gasped, and Katie jumped in front of me. I could almost feel her heart racing in her chest. She darted her eyes between Katie and me, stretching her lips agonizingly slow across her face. The gin she’d been drinking all night glazed her eyes and made her neck pink, and even though Simone’s voice always carried, she was somehow louder when she drank.

“If we hit zero again, you guys are getting married. Tonight. You’re already practically engaged!”

Katie laughed, leaning back against me. “You’re wasted. Not happening. They should do it! They’re actually engaged.”

Ash and Jackson laughed and shook their heads. “No way, buttercup. I spent way too much money on a non-refundabledeposit for the venue. We’re having the wedding.” Jackson punctuated his sentence with a pat on the table in front of him.

“You heard him. This has never happened. That means if it happens, you were meant to get married. Right?”

“Deal.” Katie giggled, giving in to the argument quickly. I choked on my breath.

“Kitten…”

“No, let’s do it. We’ve been betting odds all weekend. Let’s do something thatscares us. It’s not going to actually land on it. It’s just fun!” She squinted. “Plus, it’s true. You did kind of look like you were going to ask me to marry you earlier…”

When she laughed, my heart squeezed in my chest, and I found myself eagerly reaching for the zero with my chip in hand. “Okay, fine. If it lands on zero, babe, then you marry me. Here. Tonight.”
