I can’t stop kissing her with all these feelings bubbling up inside me. They’re foreign, and unwanted, and fuck, they break every damn rule we made.

But I can’t help myself.

And I don’t think she can, either.

Chapter15

Lennox

The last coupleof weeks fly by, and soon, it’s the week before finals and another year of college will be done.

Only one year left. I still have no idea what I’ll do after graduation. But the urge to write grows stronger, and I find it harder and harder to ignore.

Just admit it. You know it’s true.

It’s Holden.

I smile at myself in the mirror as I apply my eye shadow and think about the boy I can’t stop thinking about.

“Almost ready, girl?” Everleigh walks into my room and stands behind me where I sit at my desk. She runs her hands through my hair. “It looks good straight.”

“Thanks. I thought it was a nice change. You’re looking smoking hot,” I say as I turn around and take in her cute sundress, light makeup, and her hair is swept back with a cute butterfly clip. “Is there a certain someone on your radar tonight, hmm?”

Everleigh laughs but her cheeks turn red. “No, why?”

“You definitely are feeling someone. Your red cheeks don’t lie.”

Everleigh rolls her eyes and flops down on my bed. “It’s no one, really. He wouldn’t look twice at me anyway.”

“Then he doesn’t deserve you.”

“And you and Holden have been spending a lot of time together. Like almost every day. Are you two more than just friends with benefits now?”

I shrug in an attempt to keep my reaction neutral. “No, of course not. I don’t do relationships. You know this, and so does he.”

“Len, you stopped bringing guys home. Except for Holden. So unless you’re hooking up with guys at their place, then you and Holden are basically dating.”

I laugh. “Well, maybe I am hooking up with them elsewhere.”

Everleigh raises her brow. “Just admit it already.”

“Admit what?”

“You and Holden are a thing, one hundred percent.” Maia suddenly appears in my doorway, and we both turn and look at her.

“Oh my God, you two are crazy. People can be fuck buddies. People can have relationships.” I make air quotes around the word relationship. “Without any type of labels or commitment. And by relationship, I mean a strictly sexual one,” I explain as I apply my pink lip gloss and run a brush through my hair one more time.

“Well, I love it,” Maia says. “I think it’s cute. And safer.”

“I agree. But it’s basically dating withoutcallingit dating. So the same thing,” Everleigh says.

“It was his idea.” I shrug and stand, running my hands down my top and skirt to smooth out the fabric.

“What?” Everleigh bursts out, her mouth dropping open. “You just burned me with that tea, Len. Now spill.”

“Yes, do tell.” Maia picks up a perfume bottle and sniffs the scent. “Can I use some?”

“Of course.” I slip on my earrings and slide my feet into my sandals. “Okay, so Holden and I hooked up on the ski trip.”
