I secured it. Then, I brought my hands to rest on her waist.
“It’s beautiful,” she whispered. Grazing the diamond pendant with her fingers. I held her gaze.
It matched her ring.
“It is,” I brushed my lips against her neck.
I didn’t want to leave this. Her intoxicating peachy scent. Her warmth. The way her eyes held mine softly.
But I knew we had to go.
She breathed before turning around in my arms. “Thank you, Damien.”
Her words were followed by a lingering kiss on my cheek. Before she spun around.
Right... sightseeing.
We walked through the hallways. And I trailed behind her. Until we reached the elevator.
We rode down in comfortable silence when we exited the building.
A black Mercedes was waiting for us. Beside it was the Chauffer, standing beside the open door. Tall and Greek.
“Good morning, sir,” he bowed deeply before turning to Renee. “Good morning, ma’am.”
His accent peeked thickly.
She replied with a small ‘thank you.’ Before we climbed in the back seat.
White-washed buildings graced my vision as we passed them. The buildings stood shoulder to shoulder. And I briefly wondered if there was some sort of backstory for this.
Christmas lights and other decorations adorned some of the buildings.
I grunted. It was only early December,
The windows were up. But I could still see the cobblestones. Indeed the city’s architecture was unique.
Returning my gaze, they found hers. Well, not hers. The silky strands of her hair spilled to an exposed upper back.
Her head was glued to the side of the window. And I could imagine her expression. I let my eyes roam her soft back.
Instantly, my fingers itched to glide against it. But not here. Not now.
It was barely three days since we had sex in my room.
With a small smile, I refocused my mind on the moment. The little boner I was beginning to have would do me no good.
Just as I shut my eyes to still my mind, Dimitri spoke. “We have reached the beginning of our trip.”
Beginning?
“Finally,” she gasped.
I furrowed my brows. “We have to walk henceforth for you to appreciate the aesthetics.”
He answered my unspoken question.
Frankly, I didn’t care about the aesthetics. There was another thing I’d much rather appreciate. But if walking made her happy then so be it.
