If he knows where Rina is, I'll have his throat, then his balls, and finally his heart. Assuming he makes it that long.

As soon as I approach him, he lifts his muzzle and snarls at me. I can see the recognition in his eyes.

This one is mine,I tell the others, as they sense through our bonds that I've got him.I'll let you know if I need backup.

Kill him, Lucy-Lu,Adar encourages me, using a nickname I hate to get my blood pumping.

He's a keen, strong wolf, but something is off about him as we engage. His lips tremble as he peels them back to reveal his teeth. When I slash at his belly, he whimpers and recoils instead of grabbing my throat and shaking me by it.

There's something different about him. He's weakened. I take advantage of it, grabbing him by the throat and dragging him to our side. He barely fights me.

As his troops rally to him, I shift the wind, whipping it towards Ali. She takes my cue. In the middle of casting a spell, she "stumbles," lowers her arms, and falls into the enemy ranks, pretending to be burnt out.

Two vampires grab her by her shoulders and drag her past their shields, kidnapping her. She should be safe—vampires are fans of draining werewolves, but they prefer to romance witches, or at least steal their magic.

I can feel part of my power, in the form of a breath of air, travel with her into the camps.

And I cross my fingers that she makes it through to save our sweet, precious Caterina.

Chapter11

Rina

Submit.

I tell myself that I should do it. I'm an omega—it should come naturally. It wouldn't be the first time that I've submitted to an enemy wolf.

Last time, I submitted to Eli. It worked, at least for a while. His protective alpha instincts kicked in and took over.

"Finish it," Klaus tells me, rolling his shoulders back, a satisfied look on his face. "I can feel my potion kick in. Finish yours now, or I'll start without you."

Start without you. What a euphemistic phrase for "rape." The gulp of potion is still in my mouth, bitter and churning, every bit of my fighting spirit clinging on.

An arousal is pressing against Klaus's pants. He loosens them, sighing as he cups his knotted erection through his underwear.

I'm about to down the rest of the potion when I feel it. A familiar scratch on my hand. The connection snaps into place, strong and familiar: Ali.

She senses immediately what I'm doing.

Stop that, she says, her voice frantic and far away.I'm on my way to you. Just hold on.

For a brief moment, I can see through her eyes.Apparently she's in the middle of the war camp. Dusted vampires swirl around her, slaughtered by her hand.

You're really coming for me?

My best friend responds,I am. I can save you, Rina. But you have to be lucid. So stop that, don't drink that potion.

I spit the mouthful of potion onto the ground, then dump the rest out.

Klaus's response is immediately. He stalks over to me, grabs me by the hair, and throws me to the ground.

"Why would you do that!?" He rages out, snarling. "I don'twantto hurt you, but I will, and don't forget it."

"It tastes bad," I tell him, which is the truth. "I don't want to drink it."

Klaus throws the empty bottle of his potion to the ground, glass shattering. He grabs me by the throat, his fingers digging into my neck, cutting off part of my air supply.

"I don't have to numb you, you dumb bitch. It can hurt as much as I want it to and you'll still go into heat."
