My eyes roll back at the sensations he’s cresting in me. His hips don’t miss a beat as he moves his lips down my neck to my nipple. He adjusts his angle, and I start to see stars.

“Open your eyes, beloved,” I struggle to obey.

Red orbs look back at me, and somehow, I know mine are the same.

MINE

His fangs break my skin, sinking in deep right over my heart. I gasp as the orgasm he’s been working to perfection crushes me under a wave of pleasure so pure my world turns a brilliant white.

Followed by blissful darkness.

Gaius

Having perfect hearing is hell, especially in a house full of whining women and one annoying hellhound. I find Nico pacing the hall, growling about breeding, and wishing I had a mallet to bash my head in.

“Honestly, you would think finding your mate would be a gloriously happy occasion. Yet here you are grumbling about fucking her? Are you not up to the task? I could show you…” I smile as he launches himself at me, tackling me to the floor.

“You will not touch her.” He growls in my face.

“Temper temper. You’ve proven your alpha-ness, so unless you plan on practicing with me, I suggest you move. Being pinned down is a major turn-on for me.” He huffs in disgust and shoves me away as he stands.

I hit the wall hard but laugh it off, knowing I deserved it.

“One of these days, I’m not going to be able to control my urge to kill you, Gaius.” I stand and brush the dust off my shoulders.

“That will be an interesting fight indeed.” What seems to be your problem?” He sighs and rubs his temples.

“I’m feeling the mating urge. She smells ripe. As if she’ll start her heat soon.” I raise my eyebrow at him.

“Abbie is mortal?” I question because he’s making her sound other.

“I’m not one hundred percent sure about that. She has all the classic signs of an omega.” Ah, now I see the problem.

“Your bachelor days are over. Sorry, old dog.” He growls at me.

His mouth morphed into a muzzle momentarily before snapping back to a regular jaw.

I grin as I picture her running from him, starting the great mating chase.

“May I offer some advice?” He snorts.

“When the time comes, remember this.” I walk up to him and grab his shoulder.

“One mustn’t play with their food.” I smile at the pained look on his face.

“Stop speaking to me as if I’m a pup.” I chuckle since having pups is what he’s fretting about.

“The century you stop acting like one, I will. Honestly, you’re letting yourself be led around but your dick? So…juvenile.” I turn my back and start walking away.

“Gaius,” I look over my shoulder and see a real look of concern on Nico’s face.

“What if I’m not ready?” I shrug.

“You are centuries old, Nico. Besides, even God wasn’t ready. I turned out fine.” He frowns at me.

“I don’t want to hurt them.” I nod.
