But nothing –nothing– feels as sinful as gripping my cock in my hand, pushing it up and down in firm strokes as I envisage Nova, her creamy skin revealed in flashes of moonlight as she runs from me. My breathing becomes harsher as I move closer and closer to her, my feet pounding over the ground as she cries out, her hair streaming behind her as my arms wrap around her and I take her down to the ground, my hand on her neck, holding her as she pants for me, creamy thighs wet with slick as I line up my cock against the soft, warm heat of her entrance.

I come with a furious bellow, my release hitting the tiles of the shower in heated jets as I drop my head, images of Nova drawing a deep groan from my chest.

She’ll be perfect. She’s exactly who I’ve been looking for, and I didn’t even know it.

She won’t run. Not from this. I can see it in her eyes, the way she cocked her eyebrow and challenged me in front of a crowded room, her gaze playful and challenging - what I’ve needed for years and didn’t even realize.

She’s been poisoned by bad experiences, but she is notbroken.

And I know my brothers feel the same. I can see it in the way Seth tracks her, the way he serves her when he’s never bent for anyone since the day I found him.

And Marcus – Marcuswantsher, something none of us could have anticipated but hell if it doesn’t somehow make perfect sense.

Because Nova Chevnik? She’s ours.

I didn’t expect her. But now she’s here, there’s no way in hell we’re letting her go.

Chapter twelve – Nova

I wake with a start, my eyes flying open as the door knocks again.

It feels like I’ve barely slept, my night spent tossing and turning despite the absolute cloud of a bed that I’ve been given to use during my stay here. Soft, perfectly downy sheets, a mixture of pillows in various textures, gauzy sheets giving the four-poster a nest-like feel that I absolutely love. But despite it all, my eyes feel full of grit as I stagger to the door, wrapping a blanket around me for decency.

One of the reasons for my sleepless night blinks back at me when I yank the door open.

“Good morning, Nova.”

Marcus looks impeccably dressed. The muscles in his bicep bulge under his white shirt in a way that I’m fairly sure should be illegal as he crosses his arms over his silver waistcoat. His blonde hair doesn’t have a hair out of place this morning as he scans me with a frown.

“Your eyes look very dark. Are you sick?”

As I squint at him, the suspicious thought I had last night firms up a little in my head.

“I didn’t sleep very well,” I tell him honestly. “I had… bad dreams.”

Well. Mostly honest.

My dreams weren’t all bad. In fact, some of them were very, very good. But I don’t think Marcus is ready for that level of honesty just yet.

He nods. “Maybe the bed was too soft. I like a harder mattress.”

I’m assaulted with a vision of Marcus laying back on his hard mattress, and my tongue sticks to the top of my mouth as I stare at him.

He stares right back. “Are you sure you’re not sick?”

Shaking off the sudden daydream that feels very similar to mynightdreams, I shake my head. “I’m fine. What’s up?”

He looks away from me, breaking eye contact. “Breakfast is on the table.”

“Oh.” I glance at the clock. “It’s fairly early.”

He shifts on his feet. “We always eat at this time.”

Marcus looks edgy, and in my sleepy state, it takes me a moment to twig.

“Of course,” I tell him softly. “I’m coming, Marcus. Wait for me?”

He nods. I close the door, before I dive into the bathroom and try to make myself look presentable, smoothing down my hair and cleaning my teeth using a disposable toothbrush that’s still in its packaging.
