Azriel wished the wraiths would come out and kill the angels and end him so he’d never have to feel Red’s hands touching him again. Then he could forget all of the disgusting things that Red made him do.

“And besides this, I need the energy to research other things so that we have some chance of finally stopping the demons once and for all. Imagine if I found something and used the pearls I get from you? Wouldn't you like to help end the war?”

When Azriel didn’t answer right away, Red smacked the back of his head. “Y-yes.”

“I doubt you’ll ever be a great fighter, so sex is all you’re good for anyway. You better be grateful you get to contribute like this.”

Red had already eaten the last pearl he’d gotten from making Azriel do the disgusting thing that hurt. Black pearls were the only ones that worked for the spell he needed. He approached the barrier, barely touched a finger to the see-through surface, and started drawing with his finger.

Whatever the symbols were, they were from dark magic from long before Mose's time, but they had been passed down. Red probably would have killed every child in the angel side of the realm if it meant he could get his hands on more old, forgotten things that had been wiped from records and lost to time. This spell was one of those few things that existed, and an angel had invented it.

The symbols glowed grey as Red drew, and they stayed in the air when he pulled away his hand to reach for his dagger. He sliced his own palm and pressed it to the center symbol.

Blood and the ruining of a fresh soul was what kept it up. Someone had once decided destroying a child’s life was a small price to pay to keep the wraiths under control and block off their area.

The greater good was more important to them.

The blood smeared on the middle symbol moved by itself when Red stepped away. It spread to cover each one, and the symbols themselves slowly started to stretch until they could barely be told apart and grew so thin, the color was slowly lost.

Eventually, they faded, and it was like nothing had been there.

Red turned to Azriel, and his fangs showed as he smiled before he licked his bloody palm to heal it. “That’s why you have to be a good boy when I tell you to do things. If you don’t, I’ll punish you, and if you keep being bad, I’ll have to kill you. Don’t you want to go back to Children’s Camp and play with your friends?”

Azriel tried to hold it back, but his eyes filled with tears. He didn’t want to die, but he didn’t want to go back with Red either. Every day made him dirtier and dirtier.

“You’ll be a good boy, won’t you? You can cry if it makes you feel better.”

Vali woke Azriel in the morning and said he could have the bed if he wanted it and was still tired. After his nightmares, Azriel wanted nothing more than to have the sleep where he didn’t have to think. He curled up under the blanket on the mattress that was still warm from Vali’s body and hid his face.

Once the nephilim left the room, he started quietly crying. All of the nice stuff was temporary. He always had a bad day again no matter how much he tried to forget.

Vali

Vali could barely wait for Mother to go to work so he could run upstairs and get the angel up. Maybe they could suck each other off again, and then he’d give Azriel a cooking lesson for lunch.

He also had something else he wanted to do with him, but it would have to wait until night.

Once Mother was gone, he hurried to his room. The angel was buried under the blankets, and Vali got on the bed to hug him through the covers.

“Guess who?” he asked when Azriel moved. “Can I suck your cock? I bet that’ll wake you up more than tea.”

Azriel shifted, and Vali got next to him as the angel pushed away the blanket. “I’m not really in the mood.”

“Okay,” said Vali.

“I’m sorry. Maybe later, I can suck you off.”

Vali propped himself up on his elbow. “It’s not a big deal. Why are your eyes red?”

“I don’t feel good. It’s not…” Azriel turned away.

“Did you have a bad dream?”

“Yeah.”

Vali hugged him from behind. “I’m sorry. Was it stuff about the war?”
