Noah and Luke say it back.
We all drift off to sleep, wrapped in each other's embrace. I’m overwhelmed with the feeling, so much love between the three of them, the bond is going wild, and I know they can feel it too. But no one says anything and just enjoys the moment.
We have no idea what tomorrow will bring, so right now I’ll take all the time with the three of them I can get and hope I get more in the future.
Chapter 21
Zed
“Why is he here?” Abbyasks, pacing back and forth. We’re getting ready to have a quiet evening in for New Years, wanting to take it easy for the night because this holiday has been crazy for all of us in some kind of way.
But then dear-old-deadbeat-sperm-donor thought it would be fun to crash our evening. Odd thing is, he’s here alone. No Veronica, Raphael, or Gabriel.
I hate seeing my Little Bird stressed. I know she’s only like this because she’s worried about Michael starting shit with Isaac.
Looking over at my brother sitting on the edge of Abby’s bed, Noah, and Luke at his side, I see him trying to hold himself together, but I know being around Michael makes him uneasy, rightfully so.
“This is technically his house,” Isaac points out.
Abby stops pacing and shoots him a glare. “So? No one wants him here. Hell, his own wife doesn’t even live here. He should just stay in Heaven or wherever the fuck he goes to when he’s not here.”
“Let’s not let him ruin our night,” Leo tries to soothe, pulling Abby into his embrace. She sighs, but gives in, wrapping her arms around him. “We can just go outside like we planned to, put some music on, and have a few drinks before going swimming. I’m sure he won't come outside.”
“I don’t want him here,” Abby murmurs against his chest.
I haven’t told them what I have on video. I didn’t mean to keep it to myself, but with the craziness of Christmas and what Abby’s mom told me, I didn’t know how to go about it.
But this would be a good time to follow through with my plan. “I’ll be right back, baby,” I tell Abby, kissing her on the side of her head.
“Where are you going?” she asks, peeking her head up to look at me.
“Going to tell him to leave.” I grin with a wink.
“Zed...” she says my name like she’s not sure I should go.
“Don’t worry, Little Bird. He won’t try shit with me. He knows he can’t bully me.”
