I don’t say anything, just give her a pitying look. “I do plan on using this. I’ll make sure he leaves Isaac and you and never comes back, but I want you to tell Abby everything. Let her know and give her the chance to choose for herself if she wants to have something more with you or not.”
“Thank you.” She gives me a bone crushing hug. “You are a good man, Zed. I’m glad your mom, and you, got away from his poison.”
“Me too.”Me fucking too.One thing I know for sure, I’mgoingto find a way to kill an Archangel. I’ll ask the devil himself to do it, if I have to.
Chapter 16
Abby
“Zed, I can’t see.”I laugh as we stumble our way into his house.
This morning started off amazing. Being with Zed and Leo like that meant everything to me. And when I came downstairs to eat, I couldn’t help wondering what it would be like to be with Luke and Noah like that, maybe even with Isaac too.
Then of course, the parents had to come and ruin everything, like always. Michael didn’t even seem to care that his cruelty was showing.
I was so damn proud of Isaac for sticking up for himself, although I know none of us would have let him be alone with that monster.
After that shitshow, we went to hang out around the pool. Zed told us that Heather stopped by to see Isaac. I knew she wasn’t going to just go away now that Isaac is with me. If anything, it’s making her want to try harder.
“I want it to be a surprise,” he chuckles before stopping. “Alright, open your eyes and see what Christmas is really supposed to look like.” He removes his hands from my eyes and I open them.
“Oh my gosh!” I gasp, eyes widening as I take in the room. It looks so magical. Reds, greens, silvers, and golds fill the living room. Little Santas and snowmen everywhere. And the tree!“It’s so pretty,” I breathe, stepping up to the tree that’s brightly lit. My foot knocks into something, and I look down. “Holy shit.” I laugh at the insane amount of gifts tucked underneath the branches.
“Leo and Zed went a little crazy,” Frankie admits. I look over and smile at her outfit. She’s dressed in reindeer PJs, matching with Libby. “Don’t worry,” she holds up some clothes. “We have a pair for you too.”
Biting my lower lip, nodding my head and bouncing on my feet, I smile as she tosses them to me. “Go change and we can open gifts.”
“This is so exciting!” I squeal, not even caring how I look right now as I run upstairs to put on the matching pajamas she picked out for me. When I come back down, I snort a laugh as I see all the guys in matching Christmas sweaters. And the adorable thing is, none of them, not even Isaac, seems to care.
Isaac is the first one to spot me. He gives me a crooked smile as he takes in my PJ’s “Don’t you look cute, Angel.”
“Why thank you.” I laugh. The others turn to look at me.
“So damn cute,” Luke confirms, shooting me a wink.
Things with him have just become so natural. I’m not sure if it’s because of the bond, or if it’s just who he is, but we’ve already settled into this comfortable rhythm—like I have with Leo and Zed.
