She’s so fucking hot.“You done?” I ask, dying to get out of here and really enjoy the night with this girl. I’ve made myself hold back from being around her, and now all I want to do is have her next to me; to hear her laugh, to make her smile.
“What did you have in mind?” she asks, grinning excitedly.
“Come on, Spawny. I wanna have fun with you tonight.” I wiggle my eyebrows.
She shoves a fork full of food in her mouth. “Done,” she mumbles, making me chuckle.
Getting out, I toss a few hundred dollar bills on the table and hold out my hand.
She takes it and the contact makes my body come alive. I pull her through the restaurant in a hurry.
“What’s the rush?” She laughs breathlessly as we stumble outside the building.
I look at her, the moonlight bright in her eyes, her face happy and carefree. She gasps as I push her up against the tree on the sidewalk, my hand cradling the back of her head as I crash my lips to hers.
It’s like fireworks as our lips move together. She parts her lips, letting my tongue slip in and over hers. I feel like I’m high and she’s my drug.
She moans, her hands reaching out to grab onto my dress shirt. “Fuck,” I pant, breaking the kiss as we both suck in air. Putting my forehead to hers, I close my eyes and just enjoy the moment with her. “I’ve been wanting to do that all night. No, that’s not it, since the moment I laid eyes on you.”
Opening my eyes, I pull back enough to look at her face, keeping my body pressed into hers, not ready to lose this closeness. “I’m sorry, Abby, for everything I did to hurt you. I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again. I’ll say it every day for the rest of our lives if it means you stay mine.”
Her smile is sweet, tears making her eyes glassy as she reaches up to cup my cheek. “I forgive you, Luke. I want to keep the past where it is. Be in the here and now with me. You're my mate.”
I bite my lower lip painfully to keep my own tears in check. “I don’t deserve you.”
“How about we let me decide what I deserve?” She guides my face closer to her so that she can kiss me again. This time it's slow, but the emotions within the bond are enough to cause the tears to fall. “I’ll say the words, you know. Someday.”
My eyes widen in shock. “Really?” I whisper. When you bond with someone, you don’t have to cement it by making those official vows. We already wear the same mate marks. Something I’m still not used to but love. So for her to be willing to make our bond as strong as it can ever be, it means the world to me.
“Someday,” she repeats, a sweet smile playing on her lips.
“I wish I was a werewolf,” I growl, too damn turned on right now.
“What?” she snorts out a laugh.
“So I can sink my teeth into you and leave my mark.”
She gives me a sexy little smile. “You don’t need to be a werewolf to bite me, Luke.”
I groan. This girl. She’s perfect for me, for us.
