My voice drops to a teasing whisper. “I want candles.”

“What?”

“Some roses.”

She smirks. “Kastle.”

“I want effort.” I tap her cheek. “You think I’m easy?”

She bursts out laughing.

I chuckle too.

She shakes her head. “I get defiled on the desk and you get the bed with roses?”

“I don’t make the rules.” I shrug.

She smiles. A happy, loopy, my bones are still melting smile.

Was this who she’d been all along? I didn’t know Kaelyn was capable of this intensity. This wickedly sexy confidence. Did she realize she was seducing me with her eyes? Did she know what her body did to me? That soft skin. Those curves?

My fingers slide up her back. The indent of her spine. My nose strokes the shell of her ear. “I have a meeting.”

“I told Brenna I’d bring lunch.” She melts. Presses her palm on my cheek.

“It’s important.” My lips find her earlobe. So does my tongue.

Kaelyn rubs against me. “She’s going to fire me if I don’t come back with something.”

We remain there.

We stare at each other.

Kaelyn’s still naked.

I’m still grabbing her by the fistfuls.

I think I’m addicted to her. To my best friend.

She licks her lips and mine goes dry.

Leaning over, Kaelyn fixes the problem and winks when she pulls her tongue back. “Smack your mouth like this.” She rolls her lips together.

I push her flat on the desk again with a growl.

Her giggles bounce to my ears. “Kastle.”

There’s a knock on the door.

A windy voice. “S-sir. You’ll be late for the meeting.” More knocking. “Sir?”

Kaelyn sits up. Drops her legs. “Later.”

“Tonight?”

“I wish.” She groans. Not the kind that dripped out of her lips when I stroked her. The kind that speaks of her reluctance. “I have therapy. Then a concert with my parents. How about after?”

“I have a meeting with our foreign investors. It’ll start early.”
