“Ash?” He asked.

“He needed to take a ride. Am I allowed to take a shower before Jace takes me wherever you guys won’t tell me?”

“No, no, no. You’re not allowed up there,” Addison called from somewhere. She came from the direction of the kitchen, hair in a bun that was sticking up everywhere. “No peeking.”

Jace followed her, his eyes on mine. “You can use my shower, baby girl.”

I still remembered what he said the night he massaged me. That he would take me to his shower if he had any less self-control. “Are you joining me?”

“I’ll get you some clothes from upstairs so you don’t have to peek.”

“You’re killing me,” I muttered, still not letting go of Roman. “I don’t like surprises.”

A rumbling purr. “Do you not like surprises? Or have you not had anyone you trust surprise you?”

There was a snarky retort on my tongue, and I held it back. Grandma never really surprised me. She was loud and vocal about everything she did, and it was wonderful. The only surprises I’d really had were… bad ones. “That’s an uncomfy thought,” I murmured.

“Sorry,” he said, purring. “Hope you’ll like them more with us.”

“Me too.”

“Addison,” I called, gently pulling away. “Make sure Jace grabs something cute.”

My Alpha put his hands over his chest. “You wound me, baby girl. You don’t think I can choose clothes for you?”

“Can you?”

“Honestly? No idea.” He tugged me away from Roman and took me upstairs.

“I got you a new phone. I’ll give it to you before we leave. It’s so you can have a working phone while we still have access to the old one and Craig’s texts. This way you don’t have to block him, or do anything that might piss him off.”

That made sense. “I have stuff on it I want, though.”

“We’ll make you a copy of it.”

“Thank you.”

I hadn’t been in his room yet, and like the others, it felt like him. Neat and organized, but comfortable too. Slate blue walls and oyster tones. There was a nice computer setup and some bookshelves, but it didn’t bear the stamp of his hobbies or time spent the way Roman and Gabe’s rooms did.

It made me realize how much more about them I needed to learn. “What do you do for fun?”

“Besides working out and spoiling my Omega?”

“Yeah.”

He shrugged. “I read a lot. And I’m working on learning some code.”

“Really?”

Chuckling, he showed me to the bathroom. “Is it that surprising?”

“No,” I told him honestly. “I just don’t know many people who do it.”

“I like figuring out the bugs and details. Plus, I can use it to help my actual job. Like make an app for appointments and consultations to make it easier for people at the company to get the help they need without always having to be in the physio room.”

That would be good. Sometimes you didn’t realize something hurt until you got home, and by that time you didn’t want to go back to the theater because you weren’t sure if it would make things worse. I wouldn’t have that problem anymore while living with Jace. “People will love that.”

“I hope so.”
