Page 50 of Your Love is Enough

“It’s just a house. A really large over the top house, but just a house with walls, a roof, and furniture.” Tristan was watching her.

She turned toward him and knew she looked panicked. Hell, she was panicked.

He shifted the truck into park and placed both his hands on her face. “Look at me, Stacey.”

She kept her eyes down, focused on her lap.

“Dammit, Stace. Look at me.” His command did nothing to calm her, but it did get her attention.

She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. She kept breathing in until she thought her lungs would explode. Then she let it out. Slowly and with control. She felt better. She felt calm. She lifted her gaze to his.

He bent his head down. “You good? I need you to be good.”

She searched his face. Her heart calmed, and she nodded.

A horn blared. She jumped.

“Dick!” Tristan rolled down his window and held out his hand with the international symbol of fuck off in plain view.

Stacey turned to see the black mustang behind them, right on their bumper with an auburn-haired passenger. Was that Desiree? She looked harder, and the passenger waved.

Yep. “Shit.”

Tristan turned to her as he pulled his truck into a garage she hadn’t seen before. “What?”

“Adler’s with Desiree. They just met last night.”

Tristan shrugged. “Well, at least you’ll know someone else.” He leaned over to kiss her. “Come on. I want to show you around.”

They got out of the truck. He wrapped his arms around her, which was good because, one, her nerves were starting up again and his arms kept her from running away, and two, he calmed her. His eyes caught hers. “Promise me something.”

She couldn’t talk, so she just nodded.

“Don’t hold any of what you’re getting ready to see against me. Remember, it’s not mine. I wasn’t even born into it. I was adopted into it, sort of. It’s just stuff, and it doesn’t matter, okay?”

She didn’t move. Just stared at him. At his perfectness, his handsomeness.

“Hey…” He bent down. Their lips met.

The other garage door opened. How big was this garage?

He kissed her again.

She found her voice. “Yes, okay.” Their eyes held until a car pulled in. It got her attention. She took in her surroundings. They were in a giant two car garage. Well just two doors, but it could fit almost four cars. And here came the mustang. She turned back to Tristan. “Did you know he was with Desiree?”

He shook his head. “I was busy last night and didn’t think at all about my cousin. I was with a gorgeous woman who loves me.”

Stacey’s pulse raced and heart skipped. Another kiss. Heated, sexy. How will she be able to get through this day and keep her hands off him?

“Hey, love birds, enough. You’re not alone.”

Tristan sent his cousin the middle finger again and pulled Stacey into the house.

Stacey stood and took in her surroundings. The seemingly brand-new stainless-steel appliances gave the kitchen a modern feel while the crisp white cabinets made the kitchen feel open and airy. The counters were a black granite with a large sink under a window, and another sink in the island. The kitchen opened up to a large living area. This area had a large comfortable-looking L-shaped couch and an extremely large flat screen television which almost took up the entire wall. Yep, men lived here. The stand under the TV held what Stacey figured was a gaming station. Typical.

She was drawn to one side of the living area. To the glass wall with extra wide sliding doors. The doors opened to the pool. Her mouth fell as she stared at the waterfall and faux rocks which surrounded it. “Oh, my gosh. It’s beautiful. Do you actually swim in there?”

Tristan laughed and wrapped his arms around her as Adler and Desiree walked in.
