"Oh." She frowns and shrugs.
"Yeah, let's go get the ice cream." There's absolutely no point in talking about this. Either way it goes, my name is tarnished, and if all the girls on the team find out about this I'm going to be even more of an outcast.
She nods and smiles at me. "Lots of it."
As we get into the store, I let the chill of the air settle around me. We pick up a pint of Rocky Road, Mint Chocolate Chip, Butter Pecan, Strawberry Cheesecake Swirl, and Vanilla.
"Look girls, it's the slut of the team." Braxton's voice reaches us and I close my eyes. Of course, she would be here. Fuck.
Normally, I wouldn't let things like this ever bother me. Today, it's another story. I almost lose my shit, but Jazz acts first.
"Well, better to be a slut than a bitch. Go pick on someone who gives a damn."
For once, Jazz has shocked me. She never cusses and if she does, it's sporadic. Hell, I didn't know she had that kind of spunk in her.
"Whatever," Braxton says, and I smile at Jazz.
“Just remember, Braxton, I have your sim card. I’m pretty sure your daddy doesn’t know you cheated on your test to get into college. Should I send it to him?”
The look of pure hate she throws my way should give me joy, but it doesn’t. I’m just upset and thrashing out because this is her fault. She’s made me vindictive, and I want to hurt her as bad as she’s hurt me.
When she takes a step back and doesn’t say anything, I roll my eyes. "Come on. We have a movie marathon to finish."
I wiggle my eyebrows because Jazz and I both have a thing for Dean fromSupernatural. We've only watched the entire series three times. Tonight will make it the start of number four.
"And who said you could leave?" Timpson stands in my way and my anger boils.
These bitches have ruined everything for me. "Move," I demand, but she puts her hands on her hips and rolls her eyes.
"You want to get past me? Then you'll have to tell us something juicy about Coach."
I've had enough. "Fuck off." I shove her so hard, she falls on her ass and Braxton rushes to her to help her up. "If you come after me, I will beat both your asses. Leave me the hell alone."
Jazz and I walk out and get in the car. "That was probably stupid," I mutter to myself.
"They got what they deserved and we are going home and enjoying our evening. Don't think about them or anything else for tonight."
I agree with her and we drive off.
Chris and I drove behind the bus to follow them home. The ride was awkward and tense. I wasn't sure what to make of it until he pulled us over in front of Tia's house.
"My little girl is in there with yours and we could bust in there right now. Take them and blow this town." He says it so matter of fact, I think he's serious. As I look at him, he growls and holds the steering wheel tightly.
"I broke it off with her." I'm miserable and the words I said were the worst kinds of things. She'll never forgive me, but at least she will continue to have an education.
"I know. Jazz sent me a message while Tia was in the bathroom. It was a smart move, but a dumb thing for you to do. You love her." His concentration is on his phone as he reads something, and I sigh.
"It's done," I say as I turn away from him.
"You know I would have defended both of you, right?" He puts his phone down, and I refuse to look at him. Tears are threatening to fall, and I do not cry in front of others.
"Yes, but she will never be accepted on the team properly if we are in a relationship."
"Do you want her?"
"You know I do."
"Then let's get this over with."
