Orion seems more forgiving than usual, and I’m not sure if I should be afraid that he’ll make a stupid mistake because he’s starting to think with his cock, like us, or if I’m actually happy I’m not going to have to fight him to save Maisy’s life. Both Orion and I look at Kai, waiting on his response.

“I’m game,” he says. “The Delgados are dead anyway, or at least half of them will be when I go back.”

“When you tell them about the Irish, the rest of them will want to join you too,” I laugh.

Kai’s confused. “Irish? What about the Irish?”

“Now is not the time, Logan! The fuck?!” Orion snaps.

“What about the Irish, Orion?” Kai presses.

Orion huffs, looking pissed. “Kai, Maisy knew about the Irish incident. We now know for certain it was Milan, who, after assuming the identity of the Delgados during the arms deal, killed everyone except the three he left alive. He sent them home to spread the news that it was the Delgados. So the arms deal went to the Slavs.”

Kai’s jaw tightens, his blue eyes narrowing and darkening. No light will be getting in there anytime soon. His hands curl into fists. “And you weren’t gonna tell me this?”

“Not while you were wounded,” Orion says calmly. “But I’m trusting you not to react irresponsibly. Right now, you’re shot. Take this all in and make a plan for once, you fucker.” He puts his hand on Kai’s shoulder.

This won’t really make any difference, knowing Kai. Whatever’s in his head will happen. Not yet, for sure, but once he’s better.

Kai chuckles darkly. “Ride or die, baby.”

Orion smirks. “It’s always ride or die with you. How about ride and live, for a change?”

I observe them while my head whirls. I have to come clean eventually. Besides, now’s the perfect time to ruin everyone’s mood.

“There’s one more thing.”

Orion’s cheerful expression darkens. How is it that he knows what’s coming? I could’ve had good news. I don’t, but…

I pull the memory stick from my pocket and hold it up. “I got Maisy’s video recording.” And she has a sister! No. I’ll give it one more day before I tell them about the sister.

“You found it?” Orion flashes his eyebrows.

“We need Maisy’s permission,” he says. “Tomorrow morning, when she wakes up, we’ll ask her.”
