I looked up, perplexed.

"Why do I have to leave?"

She lookedat me as though she didn't understand why she had to explain this, and then she sighed.

"You're usedto women usually just giving you whatever you want, aren't you?"

She asked, and I smiled because there was very little lie in her statement. It didn't mean that I was going to admit it. She wasn't currently going to react to me being pompous or arrogant.

I really just wanted to stay, andthe way things were going, I didn't even mind if we didn't fuck. It would be better much later in the night anyway, and from the look of things, it was almost as though it was going to rain, which would be just so bloody fantastic.

I finishedanother slice of pizza; however, just as I reached for another, she caught my hand and looked into my eyes.

"I'm serious,"she said, and I couldn't help but smile. This was quite entertaining and so domestic that I truly couldn't stop the warmth I felt. It had to have been at least a decade since I fought for a slice of anything with anyone.

"Do we have a deal?"she asked. And I didn't bother taking my hand away because I loved the feeling of her touch on me. It was already causing a lot of reaction from my libido, but it was ignorable.

"No deal,"I replied. "The bed's big enough, and you should be able to ignore one other person.”

“You’re my boss,”she said.

"And this is not the office,"I countered, and I turned my attention to the TV.

"So basically,I'm not kicking you out?" she asked.

"No one kicksme out of anything, Lena," I replied. "I leave when I want to."

At this,I visibly heard her groan aloud and was amused.

"You're so..."she gritted her teeth.

"Infuriating?"I supplied, and she immediately agreed.

"Yes, infuriating."

I let goof her wrist and reached for another slice of pizza. This time around, she didn't stop me.

"You're really going to stay?"she asked, and I nodded.

"For a little while.Change of pace and environment."

"So basically, you don't care that I didn't come for the party."

I heardher question loud and clear, but it took me quite a while to decide on how I wanted to respond.

"I was irritatedthat you didn't come, but not anymore."

"Why wereyou irritated that I didn't come?" she asked, and I turned my gaze away from the television, but when I did, the sight of the male character turning the female around and pressing her against the wall caught my eyes. I returned my gaze to the television, my brows slightly lifted as I watched him ravish her against the wall.

"Probably not appropriatefor the current circumstances," Lena said in a low tone. "I'll change it."

"Leave it,"I said and continued to watch.

"That was why I was irritated,"I replied and turned to meet her gaze. "Because that was supposed to be us at some point tonight, wasn't it?"

She smiled, and then she picked up a slice of pizza.

"As I've said - presumptuous."
