Page 42 of Tempt Her

I didn’t know what she’d do, and now it’s over two weeks later, and here I am, waking up to Ford pounding on my door.

Wearing nothing but a face cracking with sleep, I open it. “The fuck, man?”

He glances down at my very awake dick. It makes him pause; his voice lowered with his eyes. “We got a big problem.”

“I got a big solution,” Mateo jokes from my bed in the loft above us.

This tiny house we built on Ford’s land is cool as hell. Ford helped me design its open concept while Mateo made sure the roofline vaulted enough above my bedroom loft so that one of us could be on our knees without hitting our head.

Ford glances up at him. “I’m serious.”

“You’re always serious,” Mateo grins down at him, “and we always make you relax.”

“Not now.” But Ford won’t be seduced this morning. “That fucking asshole Senator Evans just called. Seems hissweetwife wants the second floor of their house painted and then the exterior.”

This is it; my chance to see Stacey again.

How she convinced that dickhead husband to let us do another job? I almost worry, but I won’t let her down.

“That’s a big check he’ll stroke for us,” I answer Ford, trying to stay calm. It doesn’t work. “What’s the problem?”

“You’re in love with her; that’s the problem.”

“I’m not in love with—”

“The fuck you aren’t.” He stops me. “You’ve been acting like someone pissed in your lemonade for weeks. So, funny how when we get called back to do a job at the house of the pussy you pine for, you can’t wipe that smile off your face.”

“Then what’s the problem?” Mateo leans over from the loft. “If he’s falling in love with her or just fucking her, that’s not breaking our deal. No one breaks us; it’s our oath.”

Mateo’s had women. He dates around and got kinda serious with the last one, but it ended once she found out about us. She told him he had to decide, and he chose us.

He’llalwayschoose us.

Ford never commits. He has random hookups with women. They swarm to Ford like bees to honey. I swear the man drips with sex and power, and it’s too easy for him. But he never lets it get past one night. He never lets anyone in but me and Mateo.

And my girlfriend, Cassie. I mean, myex-girlfriend; I dated her through high school and college, but as we got older, we grew apart. Honestly, I don’t think she’s into men, but once she discovered I was, she set me free.

She wasn’t mad about it. But she warned me my mom would be. Not that my mom would be angry I’m bi; she’ll support that. But she’ll start a war over me being sexual with Ford, the man she thinks is like a father to me.

He’s not.

He and Mateo are everything to me.

“That woman,” Ford answers Mateo, warning me too, “will more than break us apart. She’ll destroy our lives if we let her.”

Mateo suddenly jumps down from the loft. His hard, naked body with that imposing ink arrests my stare. Damn, he looks like he’d fuck your world up, and you’d want him to, but he’d never hurt a soul. Not one that didn’t deserve it.

And shit, his long cock still hangs hard from when I was just sucking it.

“Then let’s get this over with.” Mateo steps to Ford. “Let’s end that motherfucker. He’s evil and hurting her, and you know how to do it. We’ll help you, and no one will miss him.”

“No one will miss a man who has every judge in his pocket and half of Hilton Head on his payroll?” Ford chides Mateo, “Come on. You’re the smartest one of us. You know better.”

“I know she needs out of that marriage,” Mateo answers. “I know he’s doing sick shit on the side she doesn’t know about, which puts her in danger. Those exclusive golf tours her husband hosts, where men use his condos and his yacht; he’s selling women too.”

“What?” My empty stomach twists. “How do you know?”

Mateo’s face drops dead serious, so does his cock. “A few months back, I overheard some drunk golfing fuckers at a bar. They were laughing about it. Cruel about it. And dude,” he tells Ford, “I could fall for her too. I already did at fifteen, and now I just want to get her safe, just like Luke does.”
