“Exactly,” I say and pick up my pace. Everybody’s watching the front of the store, which makes our progress to the back go smoother.
There’s a camera scanning the door to the back, but that can’t be helped. I point the guys towards the bathrooms. That’ll be my cover story if I’m questioned. I whisper instructions for them to meet me down the hall at the entrance to Rick’s office, which should be empty right now.
I speed walk over there and find H’Row and V’Lin guarding the door as if they were expecting menacing hordes to arrive. Like you wouldn’t believe the intimidating energy rolling off them. V’Lin’s hands hover over his waist like he’s about to grab a gun or scimitar and H’Row is clutching the bag with the battery like it’s the crown jewels. Their eyes are cold and their stance alert. But as soon as I arrive, they relax and smile.
“Fancy! We did as you instructed,” H’Row whispers loudly.
“The door is secure,” V’Lin adds.
“Great, you did very well,” I say offhandedly. They straighten and look away shyly, as if I’ve just given the biggest compliment ever. Jeez, has anybody ever said something nice to these guys? “Now I just need to figure out how to open the door.” I try it and sure enough, it’s locked.
“The door will be no trouble.” H’Row is eyeing it like he intends to kick it in.
“Wait. We shouldn’t break it down or make any unnecessary noise,” I add quickly.
“Yes. Of course, you’re right, Fancy,” H’Row says with a wide smile.
“How about this?” V’Lin crouches in front of the door and uses his elbow to smash the door handle clean off and catches the metal pieces before they hit the floor. Then he fiddles with the lock mechanism and unlatches it. He even puts the handle back on, though it’s kind of drooping. I’ve got to hand it to him, it was fast, quiet, and effective. But like, what kind of person can do that? A villain, that's who. But after he does it, he looks up at me with the sweetest look in his eyes, like he's hoping for a pat on the head. Damn. That’s not the face of a bad guy.
“Wow, great work V’Lin. You did really well.” I pat him on the shoulder because he’s stood up to his full height now. He grins back at me. I mean, how could I not love these guys?
I’m trying not to think about how obvious it’s going to be that we broke in here. But hopefully by the time Rick returns, the dudes will be long gone and I’ll be nowhere near here. I carefully close the door behind us and look around the tiny office. Everything is tidy as usual, even though the furniture looks like it saw its best days twenty years ago. It carries the strong scent of cigarettes and sweat, and H’Row and V’Lin wrinkle their noses when it hits their nostrils.
I turn to them. They’re watching me expectantly, as if I have a big plan. I do not have a plan.
“So maybe we should—” my words are cut off by the sound of footsteps marching down the hall. I quickly scan the room and spot a closet door, and silently signal for the guys to head over there. If I remember correctly, it’s a small supply closet, with mops, gloves, and those kinds of things.
H’Row and V’Lin immediately head for the door and maneuver themselves in. The two of them fill up most of the space, but I decide to join them rather than explain to Rick how I got into his locked office. I ease the door shut as quickly and quietly as I can, and the three of us are plunged into near-total darkness.
Did I mention that I’m wedged between the two of them? Because I am and I can barely breathe. Not because it’s tight, but because it’s incredibly hot. My chest is pressed against V’Lin’s, and H’Row is pushed against me from behind. Nearly every inch of my body is touching them from my ankles to my ears.
It’s one thing to see their incredible warrior bodies from a distance and help them pick out clothes. It’s entirely different to have them smashed against me, surrounded by their clean musky scent, and feel their warm breath ghosting over my skin. It takes all my self-control not to squirm against them.
I’m shamefully aware that my body wants more than contact, it wants friction, penetration. Damn. I shouldn’t have thought that word, because now that’s all I can think about. Heat pools between my legs, as I imagine their fingers, tongues, and heaven help me, those massive cocks of theirs spreading me open and claiming me.
H’Row grunts behind me, as if he can read my thoughts, or feel the hunger of my body. V’Lin shifts slightly so that his thigh is pressed against my core. Ahh, it’s bliss and I feel the heat flare through my blood. I’m ready to cross so many lines, but then I hear the outer door rattle and swing open.
“What the hell?” Rick’s voice rings out. I guess he just discovered his broken doorknob. Several footsteps echo behind his voice. The heat in my blood instantly chills. We’ve got play it cool now.
“Please sit here Mr. Lemmings.”
“This is my office,” he grumbles.
“Is there a problem, Mr. Lemmings?”
“No, I’ll sit.”
“The two individuals we’re looking for were seen entering this building about 45 minutes ago. They’re about six foot, five inches, muscular and their skin is, ah, colored blue.” Damn, damn, damn! I was hoping I was wrong, but they are in trouble. They ARE the trouble. I feel my heartbeat speed up, the first signs of oncoming panic.
“Are you saying there are two aliens in my store?” Rick’s voice comes out strangled, like he’s caught in disbelief. That makes two of us, buddy. What the hell is going on?
“No, we are not saying that. We’re simply letting you know that these two individuals are dangerous and were seen here.” He pauses.
Oh fuck. Fuck! They’re dangerous? My stomach flip flops, and I feel my breath coming even faster. I’m smashed in the closet with two dangerous wanted men and just seconds ago all I could think about was getting in their pants. What is wrong with me? What will happen to me? My mind is on fire and my heart is beating out of control. I feel lightheaded or like I’m going to throw up. If I could see anything in the dark, my vision would probably be going dim. Oh no, oh, no!
Just then, one of the guys, maybe V’Lin, wraps his arms around me and gives me a gentle hug. Then H’Row begins rubbing gentle, comforting circles on my back and whispers, “Breathe,” softly in my ear. Amazingly, I feel the panic lower a fraction.
“They were last seen speaking with a Miss Fancy Katz and a Miss Miranda Ruiz. We’d like to talk to each of them right away. Can you direct us to them now?”
