Ezra, Jensen, and Maxim were the complete loves of her life. Of course, they made it known to her every single day of her life. How could she forget it? They adored her and were still fiercely possessive and overprotective. But she would have it no other way.

The most valuable gift they had ever given her was having her name written into their history. Of course, she wasn’t stupid, and she knew her husbands and knew they had possibly threatened the whole monastery just for her name to go down in their scriptures.

Her family loved them too, Laura and her nieces and nephews, which was odd because Tammy still thought they were too intimidating. If it weren’t for her friend though, she might have never met them. Still, they never really figured out what was in the orange envelope that had to be delivered and her husbands were not forthcoming at all.

She had met their parents and their one niece, and now she had three sets of parents who adored her.

Her heart missed a few beats at the sight of them talking to three other men who belonged to the Leoni family. Marco Ricci, Alessandro Amota, and Stefano Costa.

Sutton had just met their wife, Piper, and she loved her on sight.

“My sister actually sold me to them on a dating site. Would you believe that?” Piper said, nodding in the direction of the men talking and brimming with laughter.

“Yes,” Sutton said. “I took them," she said, pointing at her husbands, "Cupcakes as an apology for messing up at work and got mistaken for the virgin that was meant to be sacrificed to them.”

"Well, cheers to that,” Piper said, raising her non-alcoholic drink. Sutton raised hers as well. She was three months pregnant, and her husbands overprotectiveness went into overdrive. Piper had also just found out she was having her third baby.

“And cheers to no one else believing how we got our happy ever afters.”

“I’ll drink my virgin cocktail to that,” Sutton said, giggling. It was true. Their fairytale happy endings were not the norm, but she was sure they both wouldn’t have changed anything for the world.

The lights dimmed, and onto the stage walked the most beautiful girl Sutton had ever seen. Dressed like a princess, with her hair flowing down her shoulders, she looked like an ethereal angel.

But Sutton could see the fear in her eyes. The tremble in her body. And when Piper looked at her, she knew her new friend could see the same things.

Sutton’s gaze glanced over to the three men who were going to claim the girl as their virgin. They were extraordinarily good-looking, as powerful as her husbands and as Piper's, but there was an aura of something about them… as if the girl on the stage, the one they were going to take as theirs to breed, was their… enemy.

She couldn’t get the image of the cruel lines in the perfect symmetry of their faces out of her mind.

Piper seemed to be in tune with the same things as well. It was uncanny how they were able to notice stuff others wouldn’t normally see, maybe because they were once sacrificed virgins as well, bought to be bred by men who ran secret societies.

“She’s going to need us as friends,” Piper said thoughtfully.

Sutton agreed, her heart breaking for what that beautiful girl was going to have to go through. She also wasn’t sure if there would be a happy ending for the girl called Winter Creer, like there’d been for her and Piper.
