“Wyatt…” What do you say to something so romantically beautiful like that? “Does that mean, in terms of Armani and me…”
Would we have to break up?
“Armani. You. Me.” He emphasizes every word.
“The three of us.”
“The three of us,” he repeats. “If that’s what you want.”
God, that would solve everything.
Dating both of them?
Fucking… both of them.
God…
“What if people…”
“I don’t care.” He reaches out to me, his hand waiting for mine. “Our relationship is no one’s business.”
I reach out to lay my hand in his, moving to his gentle pull, until I’m off the bench, on the floor, and in his arms.
“What if someone makes it their business?”
“Then they best be ready to put up a fight,” he whispers into my ear as he holds me tightly. “I won’t lose you again, Kenzie, and I’m sure Armani’s willing to do the same.”
“Xandra.”
I lean back enough as his hand pauses in running through my hair, our faces just inches apart.
“Just you get to call me Xandra still.”
His smile is everything.
“Anything our girl wants.”
Our girl.
DEADLIFTS AND THE SIGHT OF A REAL TEAM
~MACKENZIE~
“There you are,” I call out as Leo emerges from around the corner down the hall. “We were looking for you.”
“My bad,” Leo begins as he meets us halfway. “There was a suspicious guy trying to enter the rink. I had to chase him off and call security to make sure they got off the property.”
“Why would anyone be trying to get into the rink?” I ask and glance over at Wyatt, who looks just as confused.
“Same guy?” Wyatt inquires, to which Leo nods.
“Looks that way.” He turns his attention to me. “Actually, since the stadium opened, a lot of people have been trying to enter here without permission. At first, it wasn’t too big of a deal. Probably some kids or teens are anxious to see this public place, but once the Vipers got popular, more people have been trying to get in here so they can grab unauthorized photos of the team players. Some were trying to get photos of Nurse Johnson the other day.” He crosses his arms over his chest before he gives us a deep frown.
“This guy, though, has been trying to enter the rink multiple times. Also, in one or two instances, he was heading down the hall where the medical professionals do their assessments and such. Mr. Champion is real strict on trespassing, especially if you know about his history with haters trying to set him up to being gay just to ruin his reputation and marriage.”
“Damn,” I whisper in shock. “Jealous people will do anything to get to the top.”
“When it comes to money, power, and fame, most definitely,” Leo agrees and looks between the two of us. “Anyway, it’s taken care of, but just be careful. I’m not too worried about Wyatt, but you, Mack. Make sure when you’re walking around during the early hours or after gym sessions that you’re with someone. Even if that means calling security so we can send one of our guys to escort you.”
