The Alpha King sucked in a breath, his eyes rolling back in pleasure, no longer having the will or control to push away the witches who surrounded him, offering him their flesh. Viviane, the original Princess Blowjob, had a lot to learn from these pros, who were using black magic to massage their king’s heavy balls.

The black witches worked hard on their king while intentionally blocking me from his view.

Wonderful!

I took off toward the side door as fast as my feet could carry me, only to stop cold at hearing the Alpha King moaning my name.

“Yes, Pip. Yes! That’s good. That’s so good, my queen! I need to fuck your little, tight cunt!”

Ew. Ew! Motherfucker!

I put on my top speed and zoomed out of the exit with a cold sweat and a dizzy head.

CHAPTER 8

I strolled past the patrolling guards in the hallway, and suddenly the shifter guards who had escorted me to the throne hall then abandoned me mysteriously appeared.

My plan of spying met obstacles before it even started, and I didn’t have much time. Though the horseman of war wouldn’t leave his trade secrets in the open for me to find, I still needed to learn some weaknesses about him and his fortress at lightning speed. My mage allies might have studied him their whole lives, but none of them had ever gotten this close to him. Now that I had the opportunity, I wasn’t going to waste it.

But his magic was so strong since he’d merged with the alpha wolf. I knew that even without wearing his armor, even when he was in the heat of entangling with his black witches, I couldn’t strike him down. At least not yet, not before I could go toe-to-toe with him.

Not to mention I had the fucking cuffs on me, muffling my power.

Maybe I should return to the orgy party and find his Achilles’ heel while he was distracted? But that thought turned my stomach. No, I wouldn’t go back to it after I’d just escaped it. I wouldn’t be able to stand one more second of the stench of black magic, horrid sex, and the Alpha King.

A sudden tug, like nothing I’d felt before, infiltrated my churning thoughts and emotions. It beckoned me forward, promising me secrets. I halted, narrowing my eyes, then I turned, following the trace and moving north. What did I have to lose?

The guards trailed after me instead of stopping me or questioning me as to where I was going. It was their best strategy now since none of them was certain of me. Or it could be Spartoi’s new strategy—pretending to give me some space and watching what I was up to.

While I endeavored to find his weakness, he’d been studying the new me as well.

He’d experimented on me for a century, but we’d never had a true close encounter. I’d been knocked out by drugs most of the time, and he’d remained in an incorporeal form, like a ghost. He couldn’t possess a body for more than a day before he found the perfect, strong host in the former Alpha Heir.

The Alpha Heir didn’t exactly know me either, even though he’d taken my virginity. He’d never taken time to get to know me, since he’d just expected me to fall into place as his broodmare, until he realized how powerful I was and what kind of power I could bring him.

So now both beings in one body wanted to find out what made me tick.

The voice that called me grew louder. My gait quickened, and my heart pounded wildly. Then many voices joined the first one, growing more urgent and desperate, and they weren’t benign.

Part of me wanted to run in the opposite direction, but deep in my bones, I knew that I had to follow the call. I had to run toward every danger in enemy territory in order to win the final battle.

Despite the air of doom and despair around me, I kept on the path. The guards tensed, spooked. Shifters had a strong sixth sense. Though they couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong, they knew something wasn’t right.

Their uneasiness snapped like a live wire, but I wouldn’t lift a finger to comfort my jailors. As soon as there was an opening, I’d ditch them.

“Maybe we should return to the party,” a guard said behind me.

He was new. Somehow Going-gray kept rotating the guards.

They’d edged closer to me as the eerie tension grew thicker and thicker. I was the lesser threat to them now.

“You’re welcome to return to the orgy party,” I said. “No one’s stopping you. I won’t tell your king or your commander. In fact, if you’re smart, all of you should leave me here and go your own way.”

They didn’t answer but kept trailing after me.

A cacophony of voices put all of their powers together to draw me in their direction. I was getting closer to the source. I made a left turn at a corridor and flew down the stairs.

Pip, Mistress Pip, come! Hurry! The voices were hoarse, as if they hadn’t spoken for centuries.
