“Of course, you dance too! How are you this perfect?”

“You’re just lucky, I guess!”

“Yeah, I’ll agree with that.” We melt into each other, dancing to the band, playing some ballad love song I don’t notice. Gazing into Steel’s eyes, I reach up to cup his face. “You’ve made me the happiest woman alive!”

Leaning down and kissing me. “I promise to try and make you feel like that every day!” We dance for a couple of songs, and then they bring a chair to the middle of the room.

Ares takes the mic again. “It’s time for the garter and bouquet toss!”

“What?” I ask.

“I have to remove the garter with my teeth, then toss it to all the men. The one who catches it will get married next, and then you toss the bouquet, and same for the women.”

“Oh, okay, this isn’t awkward at all in a room with kids in it!”

Steel laughs and drags me over to the chair. Everyone gathers around the edge of the dance floor, women on one side, men on the other. The women are behind me, and the men behind Steel. He gets down on his knees and shoves my dress back, eyes lighting up when he catches sight of my garter holster and knife combo again.

He grins at me. “Fuck, that’s so sexy!” I tip my head back and laugh. Leaning down, he licks up the inside of my thigh so painfully slowly. All the air and sound get sucked out of the room, and then it’s just us. As he looks up at me with those swirling eyes promising me the world, I can’t take my eyes off him. This gorgeous creature is mine.

I can’t believe how lucky I am to have found him. As he gets to the garter, his teeth nip the inside of my thigh, making me wetter by the second. He takes a deep breath. “I can fucking smell you from here. It’s driving me mad. I want to plunge my tongue inside you so badly. I don’t think I can stand up. I've got the biggest boner!” he whispers against the inside of my thigh before biting down on it, then grabbing the garter by his teeth, slowly straightening my leg out, and sliding it all the way down my leg and over my boot. He screws it into a ball as he stands, and all the guys step forward as he tosses it over his shoulder. Roach catches it, and immediately after going bright red, he looks over to Tali, who blushes a little.

I'm taking note of where she is. Ares hands me my bouquet. “Now, it’s your turn!”

I grab the bouquet and toss it over my shoulder straight at Tali, and she jumps up and squeals as she catches it. The music starts up again, and everyone joins us on the dance floor.

After a while, a lot of the families start to leave, and everything is winding down. We head around, thanking everyone for coming and saying our goodbyes. Heading back to the clubhouse, it feels like we’ve been gone for days, not just since this morning, as we walk between the clubhouse and the garage.

Steel grabs my hand. “You got time for one more surprise?”

“Steel, fuck, this whole day must have cost you a fortune, and I checked my card, and Beauty hasn’t spent anything on it, so what gives? You can’t pay for everything. I really appreciated today. It has been wonderful, but it’s too much, Steel. You do realise I’m loaded, right? Well, I suppose now we’re loaded!”

“Well, one small surprise then, please I’ve already done it, so you can’t take it back now!”

“Fine, but then we will sort this all out tomorrow, okay?”

“Yeah, okay.”

“I mean it, Steel!”

“Okay, I said okay. Alright, now come on, this is great. You’re gonna love it! Close your eyes.”

So I close my eyes, and the next thing I’m being flung over his shoulder, fireman’s lift type, and we’re heading up some metallic stairs from the sounds I can hear. “Where the fuck are we going?”

A door opens as there’s a clunk, and I’m dropped to my feet. “Open!”

Opening my eyes slowly, I see we are in an apartment, newly renovated, open-plan, with a large kitchen to the left and a living area to the right. There’s a table and chairs to the back of the kitchen and sliding doors out to what looks like a balcony.

“Are we above the garage? Fucking hell, Steel, is this where you went?”

“Yep.”

“You did all this?”

“I had help!”

“And you were here this whole time!”

“Yep.”
