“I’ll go buy you whatever you want to eat,” Ryan murmured. “Give him hell, baby.”
I splayed my hands flat on the island counter. “I’m just giving you the same warning I gave Linc. Hurt my bestie and I’ll use that blender—” I pointed to the fancy one with a shit ton of buttons on his right “—to puree your dick and serve it to you with a straw.”
“Jesus,” Ryan hissed, angling his own dick away from me like it might be in danger.
Please.
I loved his dick way too much to ever puree it.
Court blinked once. “Noted. And for the record? I have zero intentions of hurting Bex.”
I arched a brow.
“Again,” he added with a wince. He went back to cooking, pulling a large skillet of scrambled eggs off the burner.
“Need help?” Bex asked as she and Linc came into the kitchen. Her hair hung wet over her shoulders and she’d opted for the same borrowed-clothes look as me. But, judging by the way Court’s eyes narrowed on her attire, it wasn’t his clothes she’d put on.
Court looked at Linc and narrowed his eyes. “Dick.”
Linc smirked and walked to the coffee.
Bex might have been wearing Linc’s clothes, but she moved next to Court and helped him finish cooking like they’d been doing it for years. I sipped my coffee as Linc joined us, taking the last bar stool on Ryan’s other side. They started discussing something related to Phoenix, and I zoned out until Ash dropped his phone onto the counter by my arm.
I frowned as I looked at the black rectangle. “Where’s my purse?”
Ryan paused what he was saying to Linc. “Probably still in the car. Why?”
“The phone is in there.”
He reached into his pocket and handed me his phone. “You can use mine.”
“No. Madelaine’s phone is in there,” I clarified. I looked around, making eye contact with each of them. “I want to see what else Ash unlocked.”
“You haven’t yet?” Ash sounded shocked.
I shook my head. “With everything going on, I couldn’t take any more surprises. But I think I need to. Maybe there’s something on there that could help us. Or at least give us some leverage?”
“Or it could be more videos of…” Ryan’s lips pulled tight as he trailed off.
Yeah. Or it could be more videos of Adam assaulting my underage twin.
“Maybe,” I agreed, shoving aside the sick feeling that washed over me, “but I still think I need to know. And I think I’d rather do that with you guys than alone.”
Ryan took my hand. “Okay, babe. After we eat, we’ll see what’s in the videos.”
I forced myself to smile, wondering if I’d made the right call. There was a certain bliss that came with my ignorance, but there was also a lot of danger to not knowing all the facts.
And I was done being in the dark.
CHAPTER 36
MADDIE
Ryan covered my knee with his wide palm to stop it from bouncing. I’d been nervous since breakfast, but I’d been able to mask it until we all went back to the TV room and Ash hooked up Madelaine’s phone to the flat screen.
Bex flashed me a tight, encouraging smile from where she sat between Linc and Court. I tried to return it and failed miserably.
“We don’t have to do this,” Ryan murmured, his bright eyes locked on my face as he looked for any signs that I wasn’t okay.
