Page 134 of Mad As Hell

“He is with you,” Linc pointed out. “I don’t think there’s a thing you could ask that he wouldn’t do, Maddie.”

Clearly he’d never seen me ask Ryan to uncuff me from a bed before he went downstairs to party. Smirking, I held back that tidbit and turned from the doorway.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, spotting Ryan on a stool at the island beside Ash. Court was on the other side, cooking on three different burners.

Ash saw me first and tipped his head in a greeting as he met my gaze over Ryan’s shoulder. Ryan glanced back as I sidled up next to him and slipped an arm around his shoulders.

“Morning,” I told them, leaning against Ryan. I reached for his mug of coffee and took a sip, grimacing when I tasted the bitter liquid. “Yuck.”

He took the cup back. “Get your own then.”

“You’re my fiancée,” I pointed out. “Aren’t you supposed to do things for me like getting my morning coffee?”

He stared at me but didn’t move.

“I got it,” Ash told me, going over to the coffee pot.

I stole his seat and tossed Ryan a look. “Clearly I’m engaged to the wrong man.”

“If you think Ash can make you scream like I did last night…” He shot a wicked grin at me.

Ash wandered over and handed me a steaming mug before nudging the sugar and creamer closer to me as he sat on the stool to my left. He braced a forearm on the island. “Maddie, I have no doubt I could make you forget his name by lunch.”

I turned, acting intrigued at the proposition. “Really? Because Ryan does this thing with his tongue—”

Ash chuckled. “Who do you think taught him that trick?”

With a growl, Ryan snatched the mug from my hands and dumped it in the sink on the other side of the counter from us. He shoved back and stomped to the coffee pot, repouring the liquid into the mug before giving it back to me. “Happy?” He glared at Ash. “Fucker. And you didn’t even know what a G-spot was until I schooled your ass.”

I giggled and reached for the sugar.

Court turned and pointed a spatula at Ash. “He’s right.” Then he looked at Ryan. “But to be fair, neither of you knew how to properly take an ass until I stepped in. Seriously, Maddie, you have me to thank for the lube lesson.”

I choked on my coffee, my eyes watering as I managed to snort some of it into my nose. “Oh, my God.”

“How about both of you stop telling my girl about sex before I knock your asses out?” Ryan snapped.

“Afraid she’ll realize she can do better, Cain?” Ash taunted while Court turned back to the stove with a laugh.

I turned and leaned over to kiss his pissed-off mouth. “You know we’re kidding.”

“Fucking better be,” he grumbled, grabbing one of the legs of my stool and yanking me closer. He moved his lips to my ear and whispered, “I’m well aware that you can do better. But you also need to know that I’ll kill anyone who tries to take you away from me. Including these assholes.”

Court flipped him off while Ash chuckled. Neither seemed concerned by the threat.

I shivered more from the growly tone in his words than the way his breath tickled my skin. Turning my head put my lips less than an inch from his. “Do you honestly think I could love anyone as much as I love you?”

His eyes flared wide for a split second before he closed the distance and crashed his mouth to mine in a desperate kiss.

“Hey, hey!” Court slapped something on the counter to grab our attention. When we broke apart he was scowling. “This isn’t breakfast and a show. I cook, you two act like you’re not horny teenagers for thirty fucking minutes.”

“I am a teenager,” I pointed out. And Ryan was only twenty-one, so not exactly that far from one either.

I watched Court as he turned around. “Besides, you sound like someone who’s pissed he left the girl he has a thing for in another man’s bed.”

Ash gave a low whistle as Ryan chuckled.

Court slowly looked back at me. “Do you want to starve?”
