Ryuji glared at Kenji, his eyes narrowing with barely concealed fury. "I won't ask again, Tanaka. What are you doing with my property?"

Lily felt herself wanting to shrink into the background, covering her naked body with her arms.

"Release her, Tanaka. Now."

Ryuji turned his attention to Lily, his eyes scanning her body with a predatory intensity.

Kenji's face turned red with rage, but he reluctantly released Lily from his grasp. He stepped back, his fingers curling into tight fists at his sides. The knife glinted off of the light coming from the bathroom.

"And just what the hell makes you think you can take what belongs to me?" he growled.

Lily found herself caught in the crossfire of their tension, her heart racing as she watched the two men exchange angry glances. She didn’t know why Kenji was targeting her over something like sleeping with Ryuji.

"Do you really want to start something here, Tanaka?" Ryuji challenged, his voice low and menacing.

Kenji's lips formed a thin line, a muscle working in his jaw. "You don't understand, do you? This is more than personal, Yamamoto. Your infatuation with this woman is clouding your vision. You almost got yourself killed. I need to remove this… distraction."

Lily found herself in the middle of this volatile confrontation, trying to process the intensity of the situation. She felt her pulse quickening, adrenaline coursing through her veins.

Lily shifted nervously, her eyes darting between the two adversaries. Despite the tension filling the room, she couldn't help but notice the undeniable bond between Ryuji and Kenji. Their rivalry seemed to be fueled by a complex mix of hatred, jealousy, and brotherly love.

Ryuji studied Kenji's face, his expression a blend of anger and determination.

"I won't let you hurt her, Tanaka. Get out of my sight and I will let you live."

Kenji's eyes flared with anger, but he knew when to retreat. With a sneer, he backed away, his hands still clenched at his sides. "Fine. But remember, Yamamoto, this isn't over between us. Tell that gaijin to get out of Tokyo before you get yourself killed by thinking with your dick instead of your head."

Ryuji lashed out, his eyes never leaving Kenji's. “It’s over,” He said. “I have no place in my clan for men who would betray me over a woman.”

The room went steely cold as Kenji realized what he had done. His place in the yakuza was ripped away from him because of his rash decision.

"Stay away from her, Tanaka. If you even try to approach her again, we're done."

Kenji's face flashed with anger before he eventually left the room, slamming the door behind him.

The sound echoed through the small space, sending a shiver down Lily's spine. She tried to catch her breath, her heart still pounding frantically in her chest. She stood frozen, trying to comprehend the events that had transpired.

Ryuji finally broke the silence, addressing her directly. "Are you alright?"

Lily forced herself to focus, struggling to collect her thoughts. "I-I don't know what to say," she stammered, her eyes darting between Ryuji and the closed door. "How did this happen? How did he know where to find me and … how did you know to come to my rescue."

Ryuji's expression softened slightly, an air of concern etching across his features. “My men are all over Shinjuku, it wouldn’t have been hard for him to find out.” He paused, his brow furrowing as he struggled with his apology. “And, I didn’t want to leave things between us the way I did. I shouldn’t have let you go.”

Lily’s cheeks warmed. Was this his way of telling her he really did care as much as she did?

"Don't worry, Lily. I promise I'll protect you from here on." He reached out to gently place a comforting hand on her shoulder, causing Lily's heart to skip a beat.

Lily couldn't deny the raw power and dominance exuding from him, making her feel both terrified and strangely drawn to him.

“That was Kenji, right?” She asked. “Why does he blame me for anything?”

Ryuji let out a sigh.”He thinks my attraction to you is making me weak.” He looked at her, his smoldering eyes burning into her soul.

“Is it?” She dared ask.

Ryuji let out a thick chuckle. “No, my dear. If anything, you make me stronger.”
