Destiny scoffed. “I don’t get why you’re ignoring me to talk to that pervy bishop.”

Cain arched a brow, swallowing back a laugh. Very few were able to insult the bishop without consequence. Destiny’s defiance was a mixture of courage and audacity he found utterly amusing.

She glared at the bishop and accused, “FYI, he’s banging the nun.”

At that, Cain’s laughter escaped, both amused and impressed by her feisty accusation, he looked at Eleazar. “Care to explain that?”

Destiny pointed at the bishop. “He was groping the nun. I saw it.”

Cain’s mouth curved with interest as he cocked his head. “And who is the nun in this scenario?”

“Sister Larissa.”

He smothered another laugh with his hand. “Oh my, we had better alert The Elders.” He glanced back at Eleazar who was scowling at Destiny with a mixture of disdain and pity.

Larissa walked into the room, rumpled at just the right moment. “Is everything all right?”

“Ah, there’s our little nun, now,” Cain greeted.

His sister frowned. “Pardon?”

“Go ahead, Destiny, tell her what you told us.” When she remained silent, he teased, “Bishop got your tongue?”

She scoffed and flushed. “I just want to get out of here, you ass-hat.”

Larissa stepped further into the room, taking sympathy on the mortal. “Whatever fun you two are having, that’s enough. Your clothes aren’t dry yet, but I’m sure I can find something for you to borrow. Why don’t you come with me?”

Destiny moved to follow Larissa, then hesitated. Cain realized the bishop had done more than silence the mortal. After all the trouble she caused, he couldn’t resist tormenting her. “What’s wrong?”

“I…” She hovered by the edge of the bed, a look of confusion on her face.

Cain smirked. “Go with Larissa, Destiny.”

She scowled at him. “I am. I’m just getting off the bed.”

He waited a few seconds but she made no progress. “Can you get off the bed?”

“Of course, I can.” She scooted closer to the edge, her legs dangling as she stared at the floor as if it were lava.

He crossed his arms. “Show me.”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“I … I don’t want to get off the bed.”

“I thought you wanted to leave.”

She huffed in frustration. “What the hell is going on?”

Cain laughed and Larissa tsked. “Stop toying with her. Eleazar, fix this right now.”

The bishop waved a hand and Destiny lost her balance and clamored to the floor. As she scrambled to stand up, Cain caught a glimpse of her juicy hips, round bottom, and thick thighs.

Her face darkened with fury and embarrassment. “Look, I don’t know what you gave me or what games you’re playing, but I need to get to a phone. I need to call my brother and go home.”

Cain looked at the bishop. “Perhaps it was nicer when she was silent.”
