When he broke the kiss, she gasped. “Your eyes. They’re glowing.”
He no longer had to hide who he was with her. “They do that when my emotions run high.”
She clung to him, breathing heavily. “What else?”
He grinned, flashing her a glimpse of his fangs and her breath caught. “Don’t be afraid. It won’t hurt when I bite you. I’ll make sure of it.”
She stared up at him in awe. “I didn’t know you could do that!”
He purred and dragged his nose up the tempting column of her throat, licking where her pulse tremored. “I’ve been dying to sink my fangs into you again.”
“Oh my God, what’s wrong with me that the thought of that is totally turning me on?”
He growled, dragging his lips and hips over her, marking her with his scent. “Because you’re mine.”
“There’s no harm in sharing blood?”
“For us, no. Anyone else tries to touch a drop of yours and I’ll annihilate him.” His mouth crashed over hers, his tongue driving deep as his fingers dug into her hips.
She broke the kiss. “Will your blood change me?”
“It will strengthen you. You’re already strong due to your own bloodlines, but my blood will make you more so.”
She gasped. “The attack in the woods, is that why I have no scars?”
“Typically, your body would take longer to heal, but I helped it along.”
She laughed as if mesmerized. “I want you to do it, Cain. I want to feel what it’s like. I want to experience everything with you. Will you show me?”
His nostrils flared. “I’d enjoy nothing more.” He kissed her, their bodies wild with need as their hearts overflowed with love and their minds spiraled with lust.
She jerked her mouth away and bit at his shoulder. “Is it weird that the thought of you biting me turns me on?”
“There’s nothing between us that should make you feel self-conscious. I want you to be yourself and share every thought with me. I want us to know each other better than we know ourselves.”
She met his stare with nothing but open vulnerability reflecting in hers and she kissed him. This time the passion was there, but her motions were less frantic. When she looked in his eyes again, she smiled. “Make love to me, Cain.”
He carried her to a bed and lowered her to the mattress, touching and exploring her with unveiled determination. His mouth nipped at her tender spots and she arched into every caress. Spreading her thighs, he lowered his mouth and kissed her sweetly, savoring the taste of her there and eating his fill.
She pulled his hair and arched as he licked every delectable part of her. By the time they were through, there wouldn’t be a single inch of her body he hadn’t touched. He planned to know every secret and every inch of her by heart.
As her body shook with release, he turned his mouth to her lush thigh and sank his teeth into her femoral artery. She gasped, moaning loudly as her back arched and her fists knotted in the sheets, her climax peaking higher with each pull from her vein. Her essence filled him, nourished him, fed him in ways he’d needed for far too long. He wanted all of her but knew he could not take too much.
Licking the small puncture closed, he grinned and crawled up her lush body. She was his now. For however long they had, she would be his purpose, his one true love.
She looked up at him with dazed eyes and a cockeyed smirk, a cloud of black curls framing her beautiful face. “That was incredible.”
His chuckle was full of ego and pride. “I love you, Destiny.”
Her eyes lit and she cupped his cheek. “I love you, too, Cain.”
He filled her in one stroke, burying himself to the hilt. Her nails scraped down his back and she moaned. Somehow, his little half-mortal erased the memory of all the females who came before.
“There is nothing more satisfying than having you like this.” He thrust hard and held her to him, not allowing an inch of space between them.
He made love to her but also took her fiercely as if his survival depended on it. His existence surely did.
He was not living any sort of life without Destiny. Holding her in his arms again reminded him what it truly felt like to be alive, to desire someone with such passion. Their connection meant everything to him, and he intended to cherish and protect their bond as long as they both shall live.
