“She wants to go to the Omega Center. I offered, to… y’know, but we don’t think it’s the right move.”

Beckett hummed, and then shuffled across the bed. His hand slid around Jack’s waist, palm hot against his bare skin as it settled over his sternum.

“She’s an omega. You’re an alpha. You’re best friends, I don’t see why you ca—”

“Exactly,” Jack huffed, the emotions in his chest growing jittery and jagged. “We’ve been friends for twenty-plus years. We don’t want to mess that up.”

Beckett pressed a soft kiss to Jack’s bare shoulder. “Okay, I get it. Sorry for making things awkward.”

It had only been awkward for a few moments until they’d returned to their regular programming, teasing each other. Beckett slotted right in with an exasperated sigh, and dinner passed with ease.

“It was fine,” Jack promised. “We’re not kicking you out.”

“Thank god,” Beckett groaned. “You really have no idea just how loud those dryers are. Can’t even think.”

“Happy to help you get a good night’s sleep,” Jack drawled.

“Oh… sleeping? Is that what we’re doing?” Beckett asked, voice smooth as silk as he skated his hand over Jack’s chest.

“It’s… an option. One of many,” Jack said, leaning back against him.

His chest was solid against Jack’s back, and Beckett dropped his lips to Jack’s shoulder.

Tilting his head to the side, he gave Beckett more space, and hummed as Beckett’s lips curled around his pulse.

“Walls are thin,” Jack whispered, and he felt Beckett grin against his skin.

“We’ll have to be quiet then, won’t we?”

7. Nobody Will Know

Eli

Hardly know I was here my ass, Eli thought, glaring at the ceiling.

In fact, Beckett was kind of the only thing Eli could think about.

Probably had something to do with the soft, not-completely-muted moans coming through their shared wall.

It was only the first night of Beckett’s stay. Probably the first of many. He’d only been there, what—maybe five hours total? And yet, the whole apartment was already threaded through with his stupid green (fresh), earthy (warm, refreshing) scent.

With a huff, Eli rolled over and pulled the pillow over her head, forcing herself to ignore the murmur of their voices through the wall. If she concentrated hard enough, she could make out the words themselves, but that was rude and gross, so obviously she wasn’t doing that.

“Beckett—” Jack moaned. Moaned!

She’d never heard Jack moan in her life, and now she’d never be able to unhear it. Heat pitched low, and she gaped at the ceiling.

She’d listened to them giggling and chuckling the entire night—what was so fucking funny?—and now they were making out, or maybe they’d moved to downright fucking, right on the other side of the wall.

It hadn’t occurred to her that Jack might not be able to keep it in his pants.

He’d never brought any of the alphas he’d hooked up with to their apartment, so they’d never run into this problem.

Sure, Beckett’s apartment was flooded, but Jack usually did everything in his power to keep Eli away from the alphas he dated.

And now this one was bringing her coffee every morning and apparently fucking her roommate in his own bed.

“Fuck, you feel so good.”
