“Get your hands off me! Who the fuck do you think you are?” Polaris swings at the enforcer gripping the sides of her face. No doubt for daring to talk to the queenpin with such disrespect.

My stomach takes a nosedive for the cement. Wrong question to ask.

Mother’s lifeless grin would send the devil running. “I’m the last person who will ever see you alive.”

Leaving Harmonia has me seeing red. I’ve never hated my job as an enforcer more than I do right now. She needs me and I can’t be by her side. I meant what I said. I finish this and I’m out. The Lord can find someone else and so can the Savages.

Ares and the others are talking over the last details of entering thehacienda.

I’ll figure the shit out when I get there. Persephone was complete in her details on how to enter. Once I’m through the tunnels, everyone needing a bullet gets one. Once the enforcers are dealt with, I will hunt the queenpin. In and out. I don’t need another hour of coordinating moves.

“Yo, Wolfe.”

Casanova taps me on the shoulder for something but I hold a hand up. “Gimme a minute.” I have my eyes glued to the security monitors watching over Harmonia. Harlon is beside me doing the same for Polaris. He doesn’t say it, but I know he’s got something for the raven-haired chick. Him and the other two he calls brothers. Good for them and all that.

“There they are. Can you turn it back?” My heart clenches. Every few seconds the image rotates to another part of the club. With a few clicks of a keyboard on his desk, Harlon pulls up the basement.

“Hurry, damn it! Come on.”

“Give me a minute. I’m not a fucking magician.”

I grip the edge of the desk and keep my eyes on the monitors.

“There. Fucking hell!” I don’t believe what I am seeing. I grab at my hair and pull on the roots. “Since when do you let the Society inside your walls?” Everyone has a dark side and I am about to unleash my demons on anyone who says something stupid right now.

“Society? What the hell do you mean?” Harlon’s face is ghost white.

“I knew this would come back and bite us in the ass! Motherfucker!”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

The dark blood of a thousand raging demons pours through me. Their thirst for death sinks into my heart and fuels my need to send souls to hell.

I look on as Harmonia shoves Polaris behind her. Something is being said. What I don’t know. There is no audio. Men come into view and the barrels of their weapons send my stomach to the floor.

Seeing what I’m seeing, Harlon emits a sound that would scare the devil off his throne.

“Who the fuck is that!”

“Society, like I said.”

I grab my guns and use it to gesture to the far left monitor. The black-and-white picture shows all the flaws in this place. Dead corners and places with no feed at all. Some on purpose, others something the security team needs their asses chewed out for.

“The list of names Ares just gave you don’t mean shit without the head of the snake. Meet Lorelai Primrose. The queenpin and the head of Society 69 is standing in your basement.”

“The list of names Ares just gave you doesn’t mean shit without the head of the snake. Meet Lorelai Primrose. The queenpin and the head of Society 69 is standing in your basement.”

Cassius, Santi and Ares step in seeing the same shit I am. And their reaction mimics mine. Everyone palms weapons.

“And you didn’t share this?” Ares’ lips peel back in fury as he shoves extra clips into his pockets.

“We need to work on our communication skills, gents.” Cassius grabs a phone. “Get to the sub-level now. Take everyone!”

Primrose has her goons drag Harmonia and Polaris over to a car and force them inside.
