I consider that for a moment, then bob my head.

“Yeah, I guess it is.” A part of me is expecting him to be a jerk and say no, to turn around laughing and leave. But he doesn’t and just pulls out a jar. He stops, lost in thought.

“Do you have anything to keep it in?” I glance away from him.

“To keep it in? You have it in a bag, correct?”

Riggs huffs a soft laugh through his nose. Jensen and Kai have parked and are getting out of their vehicles. Jensen is smiling, as usual, and Kai looks like he’s ready to tear me a new one.

“Jesus, you really have no clue, do you?”

I slump my shoulders. This is so embarrassing. Why does this have to happen to me?

To top it off, Foxy is still fighting through aftershocks of laughter. Every so often she mumbles “Mandy” under her breath. She’s such an asshole. I’m sure I’ll be laughing with her after this, but right now, it is pure torture. I look like a damn idiot—as usual—in front of Riggs. At least this time he isn’t pissed over things I’ve done in the past.

“I’ve never even seen weed before,” I tell him honestly. Something like shock filters through him and he jerks his head back. “Is that surprising to you?”

“Uh… yeah, I guess a little. Your…” he trails off and for the first time, Riggs looks remorseful for what he’s about to say.

“My what?”

“Your ex smokes all the time, amongst other things,” he admits, grinding his jaw.

I jump to the defensive, bristling, but I guess he has every right to assume I would partake if Jonas does. He really sees me as some spineless bitch who fulfilled every task Jonas barked out. He is so clearly wrong, but can I blame him?

“Doesn’t mean I did.”

“Right,” he agrees with a dip of his chin. Foxy notices the tension and leans in.

“You good, babe?” she whispers.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

Believing I am, she places her hand on my forearm and leans back in the seat. Shortly after, Jensen appears out of nowhere outside the window frame. His hulking body blocks out everything behind him. Foxy drags her hand down his massive chest and his abs jump beneath her touch. I’m going to have to ask her later about that. They’ve always flirted, quite relentlessly actually, but they are being more physical lately.

“Hey, Fox,” he all but groans and the sound is so sexual, it even turns me on.

“Hey, handsome,” she replies, a grin lighting up her frame. She bounces with excitement as he leans in and smacks a kiss on her cheek.

Kai plants himself next to Riggs. “What’s up?” he says to us both.

“Not much, man. Apparently your little sis is an outlaw,” Riggs jokes, catching me off guard. Despite his foul mood, Kai chuckles.

Riggs hands him the jar and Kai opens it as he sniffs, taking out the baggy that I ordered. A pungent scent with a hint of citrus hits me almost instantly.

“Oh gosh, that’s strong.” I wrinkle my nose as if it offends me. Certainly not my favorite in the world. Every time I’ve been around Riggs, it always smells fruity. Maybe I’ll ask him what he does to get it that way. Hell, Foxy may be able to help.

“Top of the line,” Kai agrees, looking smug. Jensen barks a laugh like he doesn’t agree with Kai’s statement. I shoot Kai a questioning look. I knew he dabbled, but I had no clue he messed with the stuff enough to have preferences. He shrugs.

Seems there is a lot I’m missing.

“No one asked you, Jensen,” Riggs warns.

“I’ll take this for you, Charley. I have something in my car that will keep the smell down. You don’t fucking need to be caught with this shit on you. Mom and dad will have a fit.”

“What? You’re going to go smoke it. It’s for my birthday party, jerk. And you don’t need to get caught with it either.”

“If they catch me with it, I’ll get a slap on the wrist. If they catch you, it will be the end of the world. You’re the golden child, sis.”
