“Good evening, my friends. What has been happening while I was trying to relax, hmm? I’m getting all kinds of reports of lightning and thunder in bursts located in a small town where I may or may not visit.” Zeus’s voice boomed.
“I can explain,” Bakra said.
Zeus held up his hand. “Your quota of fibs is full, and I have a migraine that might be a tumor. So, Nita dear, what has caused you to use your gift unaccompanied by me or Selena?”
“Do you see those huge crocodiles behind you, sir? They’re ancient shifters, and they’re freaking huge. I had to shoot a couple of them with lightning and then we could take them out with swords. Oh, and I had to shoot that heifer with one because they were trying to do some dark stuff with that black thing and this fire.” Nita spoke so fast, using her hands as she did so, she wacked Ezra a couple times.
“Mmm, I sensed something when I arrived. Could you all please step away from the fire. As for the ancient beasts. I’ll handle them, and no that doesn’t mean I’m killing or any such dastardly deeds. Jeez,” Zeus grumbled.
The dancing flames shot up threatening to burn all who were near on fire. Tank opened his eyes once the flames went down to find a tall black male stood in front of Nita. He had his back to Zeus as if he was unafraid of the God.
Nita looked over to him when he snarled a warning. He didn’t like the way she was backed against the damn altar thing with the male way too close while Zeus stood staring at them like he wasn’t sure what to do. Tank had lots of ideas. Fucking kill the fucker and save Nita. Boom, done. He would rip the male limb from limb and ask questions next.
“Ah, you are special, child. Do you know who I am?”
“She is mine, Legba,” Zeus said.
The male shifted, his black hat making it hard to see his features clearly, yet Tank saw the amber eyes with flames dancing in them. “Yours, Zeus. How is she yours when I was summoned here with her blood?”
“That was the blood taken, not given. The two who called you here are gone. You should’ve seen them since that is your job.” Zeus’s words were even and firm.
“When one does as foolish humans do, they must face the consequences of their actions. The times I deign to answer a summons, most times it is because I’m bored, or the summoner has a pure heart and has need of me. The reason I came this night is because I felt compelled when I recognized the beings. Zeus is correct. You are not mine, but your Goddess and I were once friends of a sort. However why you have his powers running through you is another reason I came. As I said, I was bored and wanted to assuage my curiosity. As for this”—Legba waved a hand around him, encompassing the females and all their stuff—“I will take care of this for her and you. Trust you’ll have no more problems from them.” Papa Legba gave a nod, his arm stretched out, pulling the two women’s bodies to him.
There were no screams or any big display as he swept all that came with the females into an invisible bubble, and then they disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Nita looked at Zeus. “Um, so we good? All I want to do is go home with my mates.”
“You wanna bowchicawowow is what you mean. Still can’t believe we never learned if they were truly hung like horses. Oh, wait. Now that you’re mated to them, you can totally tell us.” Bakra laughed and dodged Nita’s slap.
Tank and the others hung their heads, hoping Nita wouldn’t blurt out the size of their dicks to the females, ever.
Epilogue
A FEW WEEKS LATER...
“Why on Earth would you even want to know what a period is like for a human?” Nita asked Bakra.
